Is there anyway of disabling the MDS short of buying a tuner? Pull a fuse? Can I ask the dealer to go into my trucks computer and turn it off?

If I need a tuner/tool, what is the cheapest one available that will allow me to turn the MDS off?

Thx.

You can use the manual shift mode or tow/haul mode. I really like my Intune and it was pretty reasonable when I bought it. I have an EVIC so I didn't need all the guages and things the bd or the trinity come with.

Just put it in 5th or 6th depending on your year........ MDS will not kick in and things will work like normal...........

Tow/Haul works.

Well, putting it into 5th is not an ideal solution for me as I want to keep the MDS off even when I'm in stop and go traffic not just cruising on the highway and I don't want to have to keep manually shifting through the gears...

Tow/Haul mode might work for me... need to dig out the owners manual on that one... on a 5-speed doesn't tow/haul mode keep the vehicle from shifting into 5th?

You do not have to manually shift the gears.
Put it in 5 while you are rolling or sitting and leave it there. It is still an automatic trans. The number simply limits the truck to the highest gear you select (e.g. 2 will mean the trans can't shift to three; 5 means the tranny can automatically upshift at the right RPMS, all the way to 5, but can't go to MDS).

You'll have to re-select 5 everytime you restart the truck. :party33:

oh wow! This sounds exactly like what I need. I'll try this tonight when I get home.

I'm putting on a Mufflex-14 this weekend and I'm pretty certain I'm not going to want to hear the MDS cutting in and out.... Thanks for the info!
