I have a 2000 Dodge ram 1500 with 108,000 miles. I just recently did a transmission fluid change and filter. The old fluid was pink and fresh. But inside of the transmission pan I found something that probably shouldn’t be there. I’ve been driving on the highway and it seems sluggish and shifts fine up at first except for 3rd to 4th gear it shifts hard. It also downshifts really easily when I barely give it more gas. With that being said, I’m gonna attach an image of the part that I found in the transmission pan. I believe it could be a band anchor, any advice on what I should do, I don’t wanna put a whole new transmission in it yet because I’m shipping in April to go to boot camp and AIT. image.jpg

You will need to loosen the adjuster and install the flat metal adjuster back into place, and then re-adjust the band.. Here is how to adjust the band...
