Thanks, you should be able to drop in a Mini D2S or Mini H1 in there without too many problems.

Sharp Megacab!

Thank you! I'm going to get it debadged once it warms up some. Not real sure it the door handle caps/ covers will stay.....? All emblems and those chrome fender pieces will be gone for sure. Planning on getting the wheels powder coated to match the silver and painting the center caps blue. Also going to strip the grill and paint that blue as well. All that shiny **** is the only thing I dislike about the truck. LOL!

Just a little update as to where I am at right now. Any suggestions as to what else I should do, or what I should eliminate out of the build is appreciated. Enjoy. Apologies in advanced for the poor camera work and the rambling stutter.... :)

Okay, going to try a slightly different route from what I originally planned with this headlight build. I have all the relay harnesses for HID and ballasts and the assorted parts and pieces.

Was checking TRS website and saw that there was D2S LEDs by Profile in their clearance section.

They look like a pretty decent LED. They have a picture of them in a D2S projector lighting up there light wall and it doesn't look too bad. Going to try them and see how they work and if they don't do well, I have everything for the HIDs to go in.

https://www.theretrofitsource.com/d2s-profile-peak-led-headlight-bulbs.html

I'll use the AlfaOBD when I get the OBD Mx and change the headlights to LED for high/lows and turn signals.

Well, scratch the Profiles....not available. Anyway back to original game plan. Going to see about getting the projectors lined up and make sure they are level.

Anyone know how to remove the plugs from the wires to make installing them through the wiring seals?

Where are you guys that have done retrofits mounted the ballasts and ignitors?

Mounted mine same place and same way. If your talking about the rubber grommet with the hid bulbs you can pull them through. If your talking about the solenoid wires look up terminal removal.

Just a little update, got the passenger side in to try to adjust and align.

Output is awesome, great height and width. Morimoti XB55 50w ballasts and Morimoto XB50 D2S 5800k bulbs. The Profile high beam projectors are pretty awesome too.

Ran out of daylight to get the drivers side in.e4077f731a01d00421331b7c542d4cfe.jpgcf9a45b36e5565461df3d2be802c4963.jpgbada209e5f66242560147d9645193068.jpg8d0f1699eeccafefe80dc2493950d7af.jpg

I was able to get the other side fitted and hooked up. I lined up the HID low beam cut off. The passenger side is off to the right of where the OEM headlight low beam cutoff is. The drivers side is only a little bit off to the right of the OEM headlight.

Stupid bright low beam, the high beam Profile LED projector with the Mini D2S 4.0 as a bi-xenon throws a lot of light.

LOOKS great hows it on the road at night driving. lot of work well done

I haven't tried them down the road yet. The headlights were open and nothing was secured. I only wired it up to check alignment and function.

Compared to OEM, the output is 10x better...

Should have grabbed OEM pics to compare, but I figured everyone knows what OEM quads look like for output.

I have a dumb question.

When I was checking alignment and function, I only plugged everything in and secured the buckets in. I only turned the key to the run position and did not start my truck.

I did not set anything in AlfaOBD as far as HID or LED to test the headlights. It didn't show any bulb out errors when I did the testing.

I guess my question is, would the truck have to started and running for a bulb out warning to appear?

Not always. It's a good idea to start the truck turn the lights on turn signals on for a minute, turn them off and back on. Give the truck a minute to see if it's going to throw a light out message

Back when I was wiring up aftermarket LED turn/marker lights I got a bulb out message with the key in the on/acc position and engine off. When truck was running I would get the flickering, and bulb out warning.

Your results may vary.... as we all know, every truck responds a little bit differently to accessories.

I was shipped a set of Profile D2S LED bulbs, after I cancelled the order. Well, might as well try them.

No where near as bright or sharp as the HID 50w. It's kind of washed out in my opinion.

It's a bluish white vs the 5700k HID. These LEDs are advertised to be rated at 6k and 3000 raw lumen. Not terrible, but I will go with the HID setup. The white light output from the HIDs is much better.

Just figured I'd try them and see where they're at. 83ee8918a6e1070e73e6972f0f11bc7a.jpg73d8185810a546c6d680a791e58017f4.jpg74cc4188b274a227b6e828a0cd82fbad.jpg

Just an update,
I bought AMP extensions, but I didn't need 28 inches of extra wire there. I shortened them and bought new AMP plugs and used the right ratcheting crimping tool to get them done.

Now on to getting the headlights put back together and sealed up and ready to install.

It's a learning process.db6c0bc40bd80eb8dfcb6468303d9cd4.jpgc3261fde5f25796f4920670f2473844c.jpg

Thanks, I'm hoping I didn't leave myself short with the wiring. But the way stuff fits in behind the headlight, I don't think I did.

On to getting the headlights closed up.
