bough 2 gallons of mopar coolant today and all 16 champion coppers, not the plugs im worried about, its the coolant. i still need 2 gallons of water to pre mix, the back of the mopar jug says "water" not distilled or de-ionized. ive always used distilled to pre mix........ and the jug also says if you drain with the petcock it leaves "approx 50% will remain in the lines and heater core" so how do i do this, ive heard drain with petcock and run a hose till it comes out clear, then fill and run with cap of and heater on and it burps itself? but how do i get the remaining 50% out. o its a 2004 hemi

to drain the thing i'd pull the bottom hose, pull the cap off, and pull the heater core hoses, flush em out really good and then put everything back. park your truck on an incline with front of truck facing up, and the system should burp itself.

i just cleaned my throttle body the other day but i didnt really notice a difference. although ive only got 58k on the clock.

Always use distiller water so the calcium in your water doesn't cake up inside your system.

Pull off your heater core hoses and crank the engine over (while it's cold!). That will empty the rest out.

2 black hoses that run into the passenger side of the fire wall and yes it will probably make a mess but most of the coolant and water will have already drained out so there shouldn't be that much left in the system

Ya but don't let it run for very long

Uh, why not? The key here would be too open the thermostat to allow further antifreeze coverage. That would be my guess. An open thermostat eliminates the possibility of air being trapped in the bottom of the pump. I dunno bout the heater hose disconnect. If your gonna flush the system you could attach the garden hose adaptor to the inlet side of the core. Turn on the water (city tap)run the motor and put the fan on high with high heat setting. All the while oening up the upper radiator hose. When she pumps clean you know have a flushed system. Disconnect the lower hose at this point and everything should completely drain including the heater core. Seal everything back up and pour in the premix. Again let run too operating temperature and add accordingly.
Thats pretty much what I do with any vehicle. Not fun . but not hard either. Course at this writing you already finished. lol.:grd: :happy3:
