I'm new to the world of tuning, and I need some direction. I have a 2009 Ram Laramie 4x4 with 14" Magnaflow and K&N air intake. I purchased a Diablo i2 tuner and installed the 87 Octane performance tune. Everything went fine with the tuning process and after it was complete, I fired up my truck and put it in Drive, and I could barely make it out of the driveway. Even with the accelerator floored it would barely move. Like I was in 4th or 5th gear or something. So I restored the backup of my factory settings and the truck was fine again.

The next day I tried again, figuring I must have done something wrong the first time. After I installed the same performance tune, I was about halfway out of my driveway and stopped because I could tell something was definitely wrong again. I put it in reverse, but the truck would not move. Flooring the accelerator did nothing. My truck died after being in reverse for about 20 seconds. The RPMs were floating between 400 and 1200 until they dived so low the truck died.

Restored the factory tune with no problems and truck is fine again. Help! What am I doing wrong?

Did you try a different tune? Maybe the one you tried is no good.

Try the 89 tune. If the same result is experienced, call Diablosport. You may need to update the programmer.

Sounds like you didn't update your tuner first. try plugging the tuner into your computer for the update.

No I updated it just a few days ago.

I'll try a different tune when I get home.
