You may have not gotten the push rods in the correct position, missing the lifter with the push rod. Very easy to do

When I rebuilt mine I was pretty meticulous, and thought I had everything perfect. When I went to crank the motor by hand to double check the valve train was working I had one side that just didn't seem to work. Had to pull the valvetrain off and completely re-did that side again and finally it started acting right. It sucks but I'd pull the covers off, pull the rocker arms, and re-verify each intake/exhaust pushrod is right, and re-install.

Well it dawned on me this morning that with 1 3 and 5 just on intake side that lifters may have collapsed and not popped back out
