For everyone who want's to quit RAM if the Hemi is dropped- guess what Chevy and Ford doing? They'll drop it too if it's that far.
Btw- CAFE makes it also possible to buy perks from companies who have so many, that they don't know what to do with it. Chrysler actually bought tons of perks from Tesla, which don't need them, because they produce only electric vehicles. Also Toyota and all other "small car" manufacturers like Mitsubishi and Suzuki don't need them. and they sell them, which makes Chrysler possible to keep the bigger engines alive.
If that would not be possible, the end of the V8's would be already in sight.
For my point- I want a V8 and when I know, that the era of the Hemi ends with the model year, guess, I'll buy my "retirement vehicle" right then and keep it till I die.
I think, a lot of people buying the RAM because of the HEMI. No other company has something similar powerful and in combination with the 8-speed transmission, fuel saving. I also believe, a lot of Ford owners switched to RAM because of it. I know, ford worked on a new V8 and stopped the project in favor of the turbo V6.
Other than that- I'm more concerned about the design. I hope FCA remembers the initial thought behind the design and that this design is, what keeps RAM alive.
It's a truck- and not a stylish luxury vehicle to show off in front of the Scala in Milano.
