nv3500 questions...

so i was on a list of parts for sell by owner... hehehe.. and came across a nv3500 and tcase for 650... I think id like to convert to a manual from my auto but know nothing about these and all info i can get local says that to try and get one that had the fixed nut for 5th gear but they can't remember what year that was.. the trans is out of a 99.. anyone got info?

Ya I've got my tranny at the stop right now due to that nut ... I'm pretty sure its that because I have no reverse or 5th... so its that or a broken fork. Mind you I got the truck with that issue. Anyways it depends what you use your truck for mainly?

I was always under the impression that the NV4500 and NV4500HDs had the 5th gear nut issue, not the 3500, but it's a similar design so I don't see why it wouldn't I guess.

Your most likely right, seems like the 3500 has more or less broken fork issues over the loose nut. Won't know till I get it apart anyhow
