Hello all. New here. Picked up my Laramie 4X4 a week ago and love it. First Ram (Dodge) since my 1992 Dakota. Been Chevys since then. Anyway, was cleaning out the truck for a dealer visit (screwed up power shade for the sunroof) and found this in the back pocket of the driver's seat:

It looks like a connector panel, but for the life me I can't seem to find what it would go to.
Dealer doesn't have a clue

Can’t see your pics, but guessing it’s the dummy connector you plug into the tailgate harness when you remove the tailgate to keep gunk out of it.

Was it in a plastic bag under the rear seat? I have one of those also and no idea what it is.

I got a plastic bag with that same thing and also a front license plate bracket. I think that thing is for covering something up when not towing? Mine mentioned something about towing on a little slip of paper but honestly I never bothered looking at it further since nothing on the truck appears to be missing. It's still in a bag on my workbench.

Useful information. My cover was in the center console wrapped in a plastic bag. Researching the owner manual I found it was indeed a cover for the tailgate connections when the tailgate is removed. Like other circuits you would likely get a tell-tail warning if the tailgate was disconnected without this cover. This is the way most CanBus circuits work.
