Ever thought of making it tilting? Be pretty easy to weld a couple hinge points to the rear of the frame.I know you have a lift for removing it,but if it tilted,it would sure make clean-up at the carwash easy and doing maintence.Just throwing the idea at youTodays project ,
Make the bed as easy as possible to remove and reinforce the mounting location .

2 plates with a hole welded to each frame rail back at where your rear bolt is,is all you need, you could still leave it with the front 2 bolts, all you'd need to do is wind out the 4 front bolts and lift the bed up manually,i wasn't thinking of making it a hyd lift, just a manual pivot lift. But if you already have a freebee dump trailer it's probably not as neededIt would have to be a totally different design and way more metal. I actually have a Hydraulic dump trailer and frame, got it out of a scrap metal bin.
Finished the 2nd side . cross bracing tommorow.

There's ways around the side loading on a tilt bed when it's lowered, lol.Take a look at an old 3 ton grain truck . But i can see your point with the headache rack making it to heavy to lift by handWhit the headache rack im buildings no one would be able to tilt it by hand... lol... And im building it so I can winch off of it doing a dump would be weak AF. for side load.
And Once my spare, packout, winch and jerry cans are install they'll be just enough room for a Moose, deer or Elk and thats it... lol...
Haaaaaa…bringing home one mans junk from the dump lol.It would have to be a totally different design and way more metal. I actually have a Hydraulic dump trailer and frame, got it out of a scrap metal bin.

That’s looking sweet. Way to nice for that truck
Build pockets around the backside of your lights to miniumize damage from mud and snow, but that looks goodSo what do you guys think of this bumper idea. license plate will also be recessed not sure what to do still.
Ran out of gas and got a nice blue bottle to match the welder 65$ for fill this time around. Witch didnt cost nothing because she charged me wrong last time.
rub rails are done. Removing deck tommorow and welding all day.
