I have a oil leak I believe it’s coming from the oil pan near where it meets the tranny. How difficult is it to drop the oil pan my self

If a sealant can stop a leak what else can it stop ? Best move is to fix it correctly.

It’s the 5.7

I dropped the pan on my 2011 5.7 same mileage. Its not to bad But ya gotta un bolt the front axle from the mount and jack the truck up to make space for pan to come out.

Unless yours is 2wd that would make it a lot easier.

It is 2wd but is the gasket easy to remove I’ve been told on the older ones you had to take off the oil sump or something

Being 2wd should be easy to replace once the pan is off you remove the oil pickup tube with 2 bolts then pull gasket off not hard at all make sure to replace the o ring where oil pump and pickup tube meet.

Maybe I'm not interpreting the pics correctly, but that doesn't look like a pan leak to me. It may be coming from above, like a valve cover gasket leak, etc.

I was getting ready to post the same thing. From the pic it looks like oil is coming down from above.

With those miles could be a rear crankshaft seal too.

Hope it's only the pan gasket, or other minor repair. My 2019 developed a leak in it's first thousand miles. It turned out to be the main seal. Took two days at a dealers to pull the crank down and replace the seal. I hope you've already resolved it.
