5w30 is too heavy for the Gen3 at idle, uncle tony says the engine design distance won’t splash that viscous of an oil near the cam/lifters.

Now a hot 20 wt will have more opportunity to get up there consistently at 5-600 RPMs.

Hemi runs hot from what I learn. When towing my trailer my Hemi range from 230 to 276. Doesn’t stay in the 270 long and only happens when I’m hauling up a long grade pushing 67 to 70 mph without backing off.

Without towing, she runs 190 to 210. I did change my thermostat to 190. Didn’t like the 203.

I did think about putting a oil cooler but I figured this is a Hemi truck. I need to not have to baby it. It’s not a ford or Chevy!
