That is interesting.

Since I pretty much replaced my whole top end, and left the bottom end alone at 200k miles, I wanted to run the R&P for 2 changes at 5k each with replacing the oil filter every 2.5k, then return to a diet of RedLine 5W-30.

Changed oil yesterday, went 7k on the RedLine 5W-30. A little longer than I wanted to, but good that I sit at 209,500 miles.

Gonna take this R&P to 212,500 miles with a filter change only. then, another oil and filter change with R&P at 215k, then filter only at 217,500 miles, and switching back to RedLine 5W-30 at 220k miles.

One thing I noticed is that the R&P stinks kind of like burnt oil or how head bolts smell when you remove them, if that makes any sense.

I will try to get a number on my oil consumption, will try to pin down how much at what mileage interval

We will see how it goes.

Did an oil change on my truck yesterday using this stuff and mopar filter. Have a spare filter on hand in case I see pressures start to drop.
Will say, engine sounds noticeably quieter. There wasn't a ton of noise before, but it's definitely quieter. See how it goes for the next few hundred/thousand miles.

Saw on Bob's Valvoline is releasing R&P in a euro version including a 5w-40. Hopefully it will come to the US. With the results R&P is showing it will be my forever oil in the kid's Civics and the wife's Highlander. Still haven't convinced myself to put it in the Hemi as it just got a fresh change of HPL.

I am running it in my Ram, I did a used oil analysis on it and everything was very good except lead. I have aftermarket bearings and I have had lead show in the samples since new, but with the R&P the lead doubled on its first oil change. ( to 10ppm ) Copper and all others were low. We shall see if the next change drops back to single digits with the lead. I think the R&P is cleaning the carbon up and grabbing the lead.
Alum 1ppm
Iron 7ppm
Copper 4ppm
Tim 1 ppm
Lead 10ppm

I have no idea what your mileage is, my 5.7L is 3 years newer and just under 126k miles. Those look like good wear numbers, and even more so with an oil like R&P. Perhaps when you get your next UOA you can add your information to the Blackstone thread, no matter which lab you used. The idea is to try to keep as much useful data collected in one place.

I've never done a UOA on my Ram, and to tell the truth, I'm not sure I want to, incase something shows bad. I'm approaching 218,600 miles.

Another 10,084 miles, and I'll have put 200,000 miles on her myself. Hope to get another 200k as well.

I would but last time my photos were blurry for some reason and I have not been able to correct it. This is a rebuilt motor with approximately 20,000 kms on it.

Although a photo, screenshot, embedded file, or whatever might be nice, simply typing out some of the more critical data is fine. If someone has a particular question they can ask.

I believe there are quite a few here interested in Restore and Protect and what it can do for our motors. Since your earlier post regarding Lead, I have looked back over mine and others I have found. Most commonly Lead seems to be zero, but I didn't see any UOAs from recently rebuilt motors, so your next oil sample will be important.

It seems you caught the cam/lifter wear so early I've wondered whether a UOA would have made a difference.

With my own lack of mechanical experience, and my lack of full-range hearing, I feel better seeing the UOA for my Hemi. So far all my noises have come from exhaust manifolds, I've never heard top-end ticking, but at over 125k miles that luck could change at any time.

I was more worried about doing a UOA now, and finding something wrong after having done all that work 18k miles ago.

I am a little curious just what the numbers are with having so many miles on my Hemi, though.

The bearings in my motor are Clevite tri metal, and a Clevite type that slips my mind atm and according to them, ( I phoned them ) the lead ppm in the single digits is considered normal. However I’m not so sure. If it’s high in the next test I will go back to pup and see if the lead levels drop. However the copper levels are very low.
