So i noticed a white lense cap laying on the floormat in the passenger footwell. Looked up under the dash and it is the lense cover for the light.

Problem is...I can't get it to stay in. All the tabs appear to be in working order, but can't get it to stay in the light housing.

Any tricks? ideas? options?

Do they snap in, or Fit in a Groove and turn? I do not remember how the 15's R as have a MY 19 now, on the 19's the tabs hold in the plastic cover to the receptacle..
Small bit of glue at tab locations, "small", or buy a new cover.

it appears they should snap in...but aren't I thought about a small dab of glue. Might order an LED bulb prior to the glue though

Yup, well I changed out all of my interior bulbs to LED, what I used for all interior except for dome light, which takes a festoon led:

I just replaced my little tiny LED's for this style, and those domes snap in, but really hard. You almost have to remove the glove box and hold the top of the housing to get it snapped in place. I left mine off for more light.

I agree with leaving it off. You can't see them unless you look up from the floor and do block some of the light. They can also be a pain in the kadodlies taking them off when needed. Next time around mine get chucked to the parts bin.

Yep. They snap on and take some force to do so. Like said, pop the glovebox out so you can support the lamp assembly to get the lense back on.

Mine falls off too, didn't even know I had a light there until I seen cover on floor. Added blue leds and like it better with cover off.

I came here to ask if anyone knows the part number for these under dash foot well lights? I have the mounts and connectors but no foot area lighting. Figured this was an appropriate place to ask.

I'm not 100% sure on CANbus not being an issue on interior LED lighting for those trucks that came with incandescents from the factory. I have a co-worker who swapped out his map lights and dome light on his 2016 Ram 1500 CC SLT to LED and he's mentioned to me it will strobe/flicker if he keeps them on for longer periods of time. For normal use it's fine he claims. I'm not saying this is for sure CAN bus related, but that would be my guess.

There is an OEM footwell led kit for the truck. You just replace the whole driver side light, and the passenger light is plug and play as well. If I recall correctly the wire harness for the passenger side was tucked in the kickplate. And you just use a knife to cut the hole for that side. It took maybe 15 minutes to install the kit. And its LED as you requested.

Canbus doesn’t monitor interior lights. I used extremely cheap led from amazon, not canbus and have no issues at all. Many on the forum have converted to led inside with no issues.

I purchased the OEM lights listed above and some 194 LEDs from VLEDS.COM

Should work out just fine. Thanks for all the help .

Grave digging a little here but my 12 has no foot well lighting and it's wide open under both sides. The wife's jeep as well as my previous daily driver, an 08 magnum, had rigid felt inserts to cover the under dash area and the housings resided within these rigid felt pieces. Is my truck supposed to have them? If so does anyone have a PN for em? I really would like to get some footwell lights in my truck at some point.

Absolutely no issue on MY 19 Bighorn DT: (ALSO had no issues in MY 15 ED when I had, but putting lights in Upper Console on MY 19 was a MONSTER MAJOR PITA)
