plastidip under mudflaps

I have the oem mudflaps and the tape I put under them is not holding up. Would plastidip work or is there a better alternative? I need a better solution because I don't want to keep taking them off and on every six months to keep them from chaffing the paint. Thanks for any input.

Are you using tape or is it vinyl? Plastidip isn't as strong as vinyl. I would try a heavy duty vinyl and even double it if you have to.

duct tape makes a heavy clear tape which is good, but i would look for a small piece of 3m clear bra for under the flaps.

It was a vinyl tape it just doesn't want to stick any more and is peeling. I found some clear gorilla tape I may try that. Does the clear bra last awhile or is it gonna lose its stick too? My next option is linex the rockers at the cost of $500 or try flaps that are not as bulky as the oem.
