Here are the Kanati's Trail hogs at 10 000 miles.

They are about half used and got cracks all over.

The sipings disappeared a while back.

I checked 3 tire places here and they have almost nothing stock.
It's all back ordered and pricing goes up ( damn exchange rates )

Just ordered Falkens Wildpeaks ATW3 in 37x12.5 r17
They are only 8 plies but have 300 lbs more load then 35's 10 plies.

Might get some 1.5" wheel spacers too and trim the wheel well....

Pics will follow next week if all goes well.

Brand: Falken Wildpeak MT - E load rated

Size: 35x12.5R17

rubbing: Not that I have noticed, but have not been off-road yet

MPG: Don't know....put these on after only owing the truck maybe 500 miles so no real good feel on before and after

Off road performance: No real experience yet...was planning on running some trails during vacation last week but that got cancelled....

Wet performance: Happy with wet road traction so far. Better than the stock Duratracs that had 26,000 miles on them, and the truck feels better overall than my previous Chevy 2500HD with BFG all-terrains that were 50% tread.

Highway comfort: Felt slightly more bouncy compared to stock tires at the same 60 psi. Recently dropped from 60 psi all the way around to 55 front and 45 rear and it made a significant improvement. Probably drop down to 50 front, 40 rear and try it.

Snow/Ice: Really no snow or ice since having these installed late winter

Lift or level Required: No

Tread life: Way too soon to know.........and I don't drive the truck daily so not many miles per year.

PSI: Started with 60 psi, now running 55 front and 45 rear but will drop down another 5 psi all the way around. There is not noticable bulge on the tires at this pressure. On my last truck I ran 33" D-rated BFG's around 50 psi front and 40 psi rear for the best wear, traction, and comfort. Did air the back ones up to the max 65 psi when towing heavy.

Update on the tires after about 4,000 miles.
- Fronts are set at 50 psi, rears at 40 psi - these provides a huge improvement in ride quality over the 60 psi setting
- These tires balanced really well. 1 tire took 1.5 oz, 1 took 1.25 oz, and two took 0.75 oz. Granted some of these has to do with factory rims that generally have a tighter tolerance than aftermarket but that is still really good for 35" mud tires.
- These have obvious road noise....don't think it's any worse than the worn (but even wear) stock Duratracs. I would expect them to get louder as they wear (never had a tire get quieter!)
- Tread wear...was a little disappointed when looking at them closely last night (pulled them off to look at the brakes) as there is obvious wear on both the front and rear with only 4,000 miles. At least half of those miles are on the freeway with light towing. Went ahead and rotated them while I had them off. Probably take it in for an alignment soon (has the recall welded draglink) as the passenger side front tire was wearing on the outside edge. I think the dealership did the recall and "alignment" just before I bought it.
- Did a little off-roading a few weeks ago. Was at a friends place riding the SxS and took the truck out to play a little. Seemed to have pretty good traction in greasy mud and really soft/wet turf while climbing hills. Really hard to put it in perspective as I was comparing it to a modified SxS that weights less than a 1/3 as much. One muddy and short hill I couldn't make it up in the truck did require heavy throttle in the SxS. Also didn't air down the tires on the truck which would make a huge difference. Did put a few small cuts and tears in the tread blocks after spinning the tires in 2nd gear low range while bouncing off the rev limiter.

Toyo Open Country RT 37x12.5/17 on Salta wheels. Minor scrub lower corner on both sides while backing up. After I installed the Thuren 2 inch leveling kit this past Saturday. I have zero rub backing, forward while turning to full lock. Running 35lbs front and 30 rear. Posting up photos. The last one is right after tire install and no leveling kit.

Just pulled the trigger on a 6-pack of AEV black Ram Katla: 17x8.5 with +27 offset. After I get them (could be awhile), I plan to put MAXXIS RAZR M/Ts on. Still conflicted about whether to go 35s or 37s. I can carry two spares easily while overlanding with 35s, and they are a bit cheaper. Don’t figure I’ll be doing too serious rock crawling. But I sure like how 37s would look on Natasha! Anyone have any experience with MAXXIS?

ya had a couple sets of maxxis. i used razr for a while in 35 x12,5 18 but decided to jump to 37x13,5 17 in a different tire just to try something new. theyre a beefy tire no doubt. and suprisingly quitier than you would think on the highway atleast when theyre some what new. there was a slight grumble feel at slower speed like when slowing down to a stop sign but it wasnt super obnoxious like some tires. as with any tire i recomend finding a shop that can check runout of the wheel before mounting the tire then line up the red dot on it and hopefully the roadforce will be 15lb or less. thats how i did my 37s and theyll run 80mph smooth as silk. i think youll be happy with razr

Thanks for the tip. I don’t know much about alignments but I will check with the shop (4wheelparts in San Jose, Ca) and make sure they hook me up good.

dont mess with the alignment if its already good. your getting the roadforce of the tire wheel assembly as low as possible

35x 12.5 Nitto Ridge grapplers. Did a trip to hells Canyon right after I got them installed. Quiet on highway, in rain was good. Will be a minute before I get them off road tested. Mpgs in highway did not change, getting 15.5-16 mpg on highway. That is with the speedometer recalibrated. Mpgs in city I assume will go down maybe mpg or so. So far really happy with them. f89d4b87b43e86b16befc703dbd98d8d.jpg

My next set of tires will have the 3PMSF (mountain snowflake) winter rating. 35" Toyo C/T's.

Nearby Utah (45 miles away) last winter made it the law for 2 wheel drive vehicles to run winter rated tires (without chains) on the highways I drive to SLC. Oregon it's the law under winter driving conditions for even my PW. It's only a matter of time and Colorado will follow suit along with other Mountain States.

https://rules.utah.gov/publicat/code/r920/r920-006.htm

https://www.tripcheck.com/Pages/Cha...tires may be used,November 1 through March 31.

Originally wanted Nitto Ridge Grapplers or Toyo at3 but the virus had those on back order. My tire guy really liked these and I’m surprised how quite they are on the highway. Just as quite as the original Duratracs. I am down 1.5 mpg with the 35 over 33 but completely expected that. If I get good tread life, I will stick with these again.

I am thinking the same thing. After living in Colorado and now Maine, I can definitely appreciate a tire that performs well in winter conditions. When it is time to replace my tires, I am probably going to go with a set of 5 of these.

3-Peak Mountain Snowflake definitely catches my attention. Little pricey, but coming from an SRT they are cheaper than those ridiculous pieces of rubber. A 40k mile limited warranty is also something that has not been in my vocabulary recently. I know I have seen these referenced on this forum somewhere, but is anybody actually running them?

I haven't seen any customer reviews on the Pit Bulls.

Here's a brand new 3PMSF designed tire...

https://www.toyotires.com/product/open-country-at3

Too mild of a tread on a lighter 2 ply carcass to get through our rural acreage Springtime mud and rocks here on my PW. I have punctured through my 3 ply carcass Cooper S/T Maxx tire treads on these volcanic rocks. So the Toyo A/T 3's won't be going on my PW, but I have recommended them for a family member's Ram 2500 diesel 4x4 whom is currently running on some worn out Toyo A/T 2's.
