LOL - see what I mean, full pics of the Mustangs and Camaro's, with a Nova thrown in, but just the taillights of the 'Cuda. Altough it looks like there's a Cougar Eliminator hiding in the background in the one pic. :)

Well there wasn't a lot at this show due to the fact there was a much bigger show happening at the same time. I didn't want to get stuck in the rain later in the day so I traveled to this show and there wasn't a huge turn out. Maybe 70 cars. So not a lot of molars this time.

Here you go from today.
Thank you sir. That looks so much better in that color and chrome wheels even with the small block. At least it is a 340 which is my favorite small block. I like the steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps for nostalgia reasons, we couldn't wait to get them off the lot to put a set of 5 star Cragars or aluminum slots. I always hated they replaced the 340 with the 360. The only time I didn't believe in "There is no replacement for displacement". Lol

It pulled in and I was like I must take pictures for you lol. It was an older resto, but still a very nice car. It had a crowd around it.

I'm with you there. I'd rather keep the engines in the era at least. Changing from a small block to a big block for me unless it's something special like a T/A or a AAR that had the 340 6 pack. Just my opinion!

The LS1 and then the LS swap really ruined muscle cars IMO.

If you want to drive it everywhere, you can't beat the new drivetrains. No changing jets cause it clouded over,or you drove to an altitude that's 500 ft differant then where you tuned it.
I love the old stuff to,but distributors and carbs leave a whole lot to be desired compared to the computor tech of today.
Throw in the fact to build 700+ horsepower out of a 440 means you have a time bomb on your hands, that's not exactly enjoyable to drive, and has a life expectancy that's very short if you drive it hard, while the new stuff will make 700+ easily and live all day long even if you drive it like you stole it,and will live for a 100,000 miles with just normal maintence.
Plus how many old school muscle cars do you see driving into a carshow that are puking anti-freeze everywhere as they started to overheat while idling to get into the carshow. The old days are great to remember, but the tech we had back then, isn't even in the same room as the tech we have today, lol

I don't even try to compare new vs old. I don't need a 700 HP anything. My older cars took me everywhere I ever wanted/needed to go. In luxury, heck no, great gas mileage, no again but they made a simple man like me happy. Shoot me because I'm less needy and other choices make me happy, I see nothing wrong with me liking things different and ok with simple life. I have 0 problem with everyone else that lives different. My style shouldn't and hopefully doesn't affect others but I'm happy being me. Lol

I agree only if you are building a car that wasn't something rare. Who wouldn't want modern comforts. There was a 70 Chevelle there yesterday and I think he nailed the best of both worlds. He had a modern 454 carb still, but had a modern suspension that left it close to stock height, but gave him big front discs, the rear was still drums, but he also added 17" torque thrust wheels. He says he's been on the power tour and drives it everywhere. Now its not 700 hp, but lets be real who really needs that much power in a street car. Thats a tad much. I am making 505 and its a lot to handle. Can it go anywhere I want sure. Is it enjoyable to drive eh it simply wants to go and doesn't like being driven like a school teacher.
