I recently took my truck in to the dealer to have multiple recalls performed. There was one for the occupant restraint system, one for the tailgate and one for the cruise control. The truck stays at my home in Florida while I'm currently working in VA so I only get to use it a few times each year. Also, this is why it took so long to get the truck to the dealer to get the recall work addressed. When I was at the dealer, I told them I didn't want the recall done that requires the vehicle to be in park to be able to open the doors. In order to back my boat on the trailer in my driveway, I have to make a 90 degree turn, while navigating around a tree and my mailbox. Thus, I generally open the driver's door to be able to see the obstacles. I had to sign a waiver in order for them not to perform this recall, but that was not an issue for me. They completed the work and I drove away happy. I can still back up with the door open, but now my cruise control no longer works. I haven't called the dealer yet, but wanted to find out if this has happened to anyone else before calling them.
