Replacing 8.3 with original 8.4 from another truck

So I put together my truck and needed a radio. Put the 8.3 I had in it until I found a suitable replacement 8.4 with nav. Tele. Sirius etc. I assume the dealer will be able to get it going with the vin # that I have. But since it's not from my truck will it loose programing? The truck it's going into is a 16 limited. The truck it came out of was a 16 limited.

Yes, dealer parts manager can pull the unlock code from Uconnect. They will need the radio serial number and your VIN (or the truck it is going to be installed in).

Radio serial # should be on it, Vin from truck it came out of is available and vin of truck it's going into available.

Just take a picture of the serial number and you can test the unlock code before leaving the dealer. You can also get the code online for around $15 if you don't want to go to the dealer.
