So Im stuck between a rock and a hard place. Im getting my tails tinted by JJ at RetroShop as I type. After diving into this mod, Ive decided to add a little more lighting to the truck.

So far Im stuck between going with hid kits for my heads and fogs or CREE leds and standard leds for the new tails. Im leaning towards the NightVison hid kits from Retro Solutions... But the DDM Tuning kit still lingers in the back of my mind, lol.

If you guys were in my shoes, what would you do?

I'd go with the RetroSolutions kit. That way if you have any issues with them, you can actually get some help from Todd or JJ. DDM has no customer service whatsoever from my experience

Oh, and heres another monkey wrench. I plan on doing a projector retro to the heads sometime next year. So Ill have to buy new bulbs for the heads when I do it. The quads take a different bulb from the Morimotos.

I guess I read your first post wrong lol. I'd go with the LEDs for your tails right now so you don't have to buy two kits for your heads down the road

New LED's for the tails would be my choice, still need to order mine.

The darker lights might be a "issue" for some police officers, so lighting them up as bright as possible when the brake is on is a good investment

I'd wait till I had the retrofit before getting HIDS. Ppl know my standpoint on HIDS without projectors.

In the tails, we have one brake bulb in each housing right? Not two like the 3G's...

Single bulb up top, then the reverse bulb.

This is a tough one man!

Tail light bulbs for sure. I just got them and they are needed! Don't forget the resistors.

So there we have it guys. Ill go ahead and take the advice and get the tails done.

Oh, and I went with medium EJMO5. I really wanted to go 3, but with my 5% window tint, I would be a target for cops.

Whelp..... Sorry Jeremy.

I bit the bullet and went down that dark road of Ebay hid kits. After countless emails back and forth with JJ. I was set on getting my hid kits from Retro.

Just so happens, my neighbor bought a set of Ebay for $32 shipped from California. So, I jumped ship and bought two kits and the error cancelers as well. Cost $70 shipped. And I should have them before Christmas!

Ill let ya know how they pan out. And since I had a 12000k kit on my '02, I know I have to aim the lights down.

I will get the leds for the tails, and another 6000k kit for my Hellas... Once I get paid, lol.

And thats on my '02, before the lights were aimed. Once they were aimed properly there was no glare.
