Is it normal to be some axial play on the rocker to shaft in the axial direction when the valve is not being actuated? I noticed this on all of them as I turned the crank and could move them front to back . The rails are torqued to spec, hand cranking shows all them opening/closing just fine, I just found this movement a bit odd for something constantly moving that there would be this kind of movement.

They'll have some movement ,especially if you have some miles on the truck. There are collar kits to tighten them up,but on a stock or mild build-up they're not really required.
