Rough running

I have a 2012 1500 sport and it was running fine then one day I get in it start it up and the thing is shaking and running rough....ugh.... So the check engine light is on and I take it to auto zone and they say cylinder number 5 is missfiring and that the code was p0305... Possible valve issue is what the printout said. Any one ever deal w this and if so was the coil bad and how do I find out if the coil is the problem. I know they make coil testers but AutoZone didn't sell them and not sure if that will work with our hemis since we have two plugs to one coil....any help is appreciated...thanks

To test the coil just swap it onto a different cylinder, if the problem moves with it then it's the coil. You should also check the condition of the plugs and probably change them if you don't know how many miles are on them.

Well I changed plugs at 70k and they only have 18515 on them now good idea on the coil change though may do that then take it to AutoZone again and see what they say the prob is this time. I've changed plugs twice now and they are 30k plugs. First lil over 30k but again at 70k and guess another one will not hurt just sucks ass I love that truck and first problem out of it I've had

I just threw a p0302 code. Turns out my MDS lifter failed and ate the cam.

Nice well I fig it out... squirrel ate through my wire lol damn things...season starts the 1st here I think so good for me and it's 75 bucks for the injector pig tail and the coil pig tail
