I’m new to Rams and new to forums for that matter. It seems the koadtech is the correct bypass cable for my 2024 3500 6.7. However their site always shows out of stock, and I get zero replies from several emails sent. Is there another comparable product out there?

Have you tried contacting @Mpgrimm2 through his vendor thread, M² Mods? His latest post in his sticky thread said he would be closed for business until 5 Jan, though. Maybe that's why he hasn't responded to you.
I had no idea they had a dealer thread. I just placed an order according nlambert182 suggestion. I’ve never been a part of posts or forums before. Looks like a great place to get info for a first time Ram owner.

Seems like if you’re not a dealer or a shop, information is quite limited, especially wiring.

Forget those guys, zero customer support and they think their products are made of gold

Just grab a 12/8 bypass cable off ebay or amazon or even wally world

We like to promote purchasing items from our authorized vendors, especially when they have a superior product.

Sometimes, they get busy or take a vacation, resulting in a delayed response.
When I was looking a year or so ago, I received nothing but excellent and prompt service with multiple email questions.

I prefer the KaodTech harness because it closely matches the OEM harness and blends in quite well. As opposed to the 12+8 I once owned, it was fire engine red and stuck out like a sore thumb.

And, AFAIK, the 12+8 harness must be removed before visiting the dealership.
My KaodTech has been installed since I received it, and the OBD2 connection is always available.

authorized vendors?
authorized by who?

i dont know where you're from, but i live in what is supposed to be a free market economy
and that means that if a vendors truly makes a superior product, they will do well

did you know that with any email program, you can set an "out of office" message?
no delayed response there, an email comes in, and one goes out

simple as that, but i guess not simple enough for the good people at koadtech

ass far as complaining about the color of a cable, thats like me complaining that koadtech' logo looks like a bull violating a truck

on a side note, the 8+12 cable i have is also red, but it sits behind a panel and no one sees it

now, in the off, off, off chance id need a stealership to work on anything i own, it would take a whopping 3 minutes of my time to disconnect the cable and no one will ever know

maybe im cheap, but i think 3 minutes of my time is worth the 100 odd dollars that i saved over using koadtech
(now, i cant be sure about the price difference, because, well they never bothered to respond to my inquiries so i have no idea exactly how overpriced their lil cables are )

I actually have the 12+8. But back to one of my original statements, info is limited and I cannot put my eyes on the gateway to plug in the 12+8. Most common answer is that it is behind the instrument cluster which I am not willing to pull (yet).
A 3 minute removal? Where?

That’s why the kaodtech style is your best option, and those that don’t know the different locations of the gateway on the various ram trucks shouldn’t be making recommendations on which style bypass to get.
You don’t want to use the 12+8 on your truck because the instrument cluster needs to come out, and in order to pull the cluster, you need to remove trim panels on each side of it, including the center dash bezel that holds the radio screen.

I am going to assume here that a bypass cable from 2018 1500 will not work on a 2024, but if you have a way to confirm I will have one for sale really shortly.
BTW, mpgrimm2 doesn't make the cables (ask me how I know). You need to PM DeereGuy.

There's separate categories for 4th & 5th gen & HDs so, I'm going to gamble and say no, it won't function for the OP'er.

Ouch

From my post on our vendor page...
" All harnesses are made one at a time (some take several hrs ea) ...
We will be doing this in addition to our regular jobs so please be patient, and we will do our very best to keep you updated with timelines. Harnesses are built using Chrysler spec'd automotive wire (not cheap eBay UL hookup wire like others use). Most people find the quality worth the wait.
Existing customers needing support feel free to reach out via email and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

6/1/20
Side note: ** DeereGuy got promoted at his day job and will only be offering the Obd Bypass Harness. "

Admittedly, Deereguy (Koadtech) is very difficult to get a hold of since his job promotion (even for me), along with taking care of a farm, and family. I'm amazed at all he does. ...
His OBD Bypass design (tested in my 18ram1500), maintains the security of the radio behind the gateway (one less method for truck to be hacked/controlled via cellular like the earlier 4th gens).
His OBD Bypass works & is made very well (actual Chrysler Spec wire), has good install directions (PDF), & require very little, if any support (at this point) which is part of why he can still make them.

There's always a cheaper way to do something, but I can say we won't sell anything we wouldn't put in our own trucks (and haven't built/tested/installed ourselves).

As far as support elsewhere vs items I cover/build, well here's a good example.
&
Some hard truths about quality products, service, & reviews. (My own thoughts)

(My harness failure/return rates are practically zero in 8+ years... I've had 2).

Got an email from Kaodtech that my order has shipped. So evidentially placing the order even though the website said “out of stock” worked. Thanks again nlambert182 for the suggestion.

I have another issue….obviously I have not done any re-configuring because I have not received my cable yet. Last night my auto dimming high beams were not functioning. High beams would not come on at all when pushing the blinker stalk forward, and would only flash on when pulling the stalk back(as normal). Also when turning left are right, the fog lights/cornering lights were not functioning. This is a ‘24 3500 Laramie with 1400 miles that I have basically done nothing to yet. Does this sound like a seen before problem to anyone? Did I accidentally turn some setting off? Does this sound more like a burnt fuse. I have not gotten under the hood to look yet. Just thought about asking first. If there is a separate thread for this, I haven’t seen it.

Definitely want to figure that out before you make any changes with AlfaObd (& make a backup of your truck configuration with AlfaObd beforehand as well).

If you have the 8.4" or 12" radio, those settings for Auto High beams, and cornering Fogs, should be somewhere in the radio's "vehicle settings" section.
Verify they are set as needed, and if you still have an issue, I would try to get a dealer to handle it under warranty before you do anything else.

My thoughts exactly on the dealer…..very weird issue

Finally received kaodtech bypass. I was able to change fuel tank capacity to match the titan 50g I installed. Range miles seems updated but fuel gauge was on 7/8 tank and took 32g at fuel up. I guess the gauge doesn’t correct.

Much bigger problem….changed tire size to match the 35’s i put on. Change was received but Now I have no Speedo, park sensors, ABS, 4x4 system unavailable and several other warnings. Much help would be truly appreciated. Thanks in advance
