Dash kit and wiring harness here: You'll also need an antenna adaptor 40-EU10 (search amazon for that as well) I just put my Kenwood Double Din navi in my 2012 last night. The only concern you'll have is you have to trim the metal sub frame in the radio cavity to get the new head unit to fit.

Ended up ordering the ks35's for the dash. Just figuring out the doors.

Also, thanks about cutting the dash I knew about it already but yea. U sure this harness is the one I need?

2012 Ram, right? I just did mine last night with that exact harness. It will come with plugs for 05-08 and 09+ rams. The plug with the rounded corners will be the one you want to use. Discard the other one.

If you have steering wheel controls you want to retain, there will be one additional harness to buy.

If you're hooking up a back up cam, this harness will generate the reverse wire through the CAN-BUS system as well. It alos provides a Retained Accessory Power so your new deck will stay on until you open your door, just like the stock radio.

As far as speakers are concerned, there are a lot of options. It really depends on how good you want to go. You could get some nice Alpine type R 6X9's that will work fine with or without an amp. Or you can get real crazy and do some 6.5" components in the doors by making an adaptor plate. Its all about how much you want to spend and what type of sound you're looking for.

^ adaptor plate= piece of wood big enough to cover the hole left by the factory speaker with a round hole cut out for the new round speaker. Doesn't have to be fancy.
As for speakers, GO LISTEN. They can sound so different even within the same brand. Mind you there are amazing values online, but mids and highs are such a personal preference. IMO you have to listen before you buy for mids.

Exactly what that Canadian said!

I personally can't stand how harsh metal dome tweeters get.
I stick with a silk dome. Cost more, sounds gooder.

I'm planning on Components in the front, coaxials in the rear doors.
If I had a RC, I don't even think I'd run rears. Just some niiiice components in the doors.

That's a good point, Greg. I don't run a rear stage in my car and have never looked back. Why spend money on sound coming from behind you? Add that $ to what you were already going to spend on the fronts and enjoy life.
When you go to a concert, there is no sound coming from behind you.

I will run coaxials in the rear of my truck for the rear seat passengers.
but there won't be anything behind them.

I have my rear channel faded out pretty much as is.

This morning I made the buy. Kicker ddx371 HU, ks35 for dash, and my kicker hideaway. I should be set for a while. Maybe I'll buy the mopar kickers for the doors down the road.

I only know what the basketball is... Evertything else looks like some kind of flux capacitor stuff. Wow that's cool!
I need to do something, got a show coming up and don't want to be stock for it.

Part of it... Best 50$ I've spent on the truck. Other then the LEDs in front heads and plate lights.

so what harness is needed to replace a factory deck? this is whats tripping me up. Crutchfield says I need Axxess AX-ADBOX1 Factory Integration Adapter Connect a new car stereo and retain many factory functions in select 2000-up vehicles at Crutchfield.com
and sonic says this Axxess XSVI-6522-NAV Non-Amplified Interface Harness. I have a PAC loc for my amp now. Just basic radio now, no back up camera or steering wheel controls. I sent Axxess an email asking what the difference is. The crutchfield one I even need another harness for 15$ more.
