I wasn't offered a lifetime, I grabbed the "Platinum Plus" for 84 months or 100,000 miles. I'm okay on the miles, but over the time limit. I hadn't had any problems at all either - until it went p.o.o.f !

I have a car on order to replace my - ahem - Prius with over 200,000 miles. I guess fixing the truck means I'm stuck with that beast. I just have a hard time spending 18k (that I really can't afford) and then I'll worry the tranny or something else will go next. But I can't just dump a $60,000 truck either. Decisions decisions...
I got it with my ‘16…wanna say it was $3500 or something. Sounded like money well spent to me, since i planned on keeping it forever. Im just worried how well they will honor it if it comes time to need it, AND not all that keen about dealers working on stuff. Who knows, guess i will cross that bridge when i get there.

Yea, several decisions and different ways to go about it. Best of luck with the way you choose. Keep us updated !

I Put the $18,000 repair bill toward a used 2023 1500. Big step down from the 2500, but it will still tow what I need to, I just believe in overkill. I'd rather tow at 50% capacity than 80%. They gave me $8k trade value for the dead one. So sad to see the old one sitting there in the back lot.

no lifetime warranty available, got another 7 year-100,000 mile for $4,400. I wonder if the lifetime is dealer specific?

$18k is ridiculous man! Is that the only shop in your area? Besides recalls once a vehicle is out of warranty find a good mechanic and stay away from the dealership if you can't do the work yourself. Of course they're going to throw out a high fix it price for your truck when they can low ball you on a trade and sell you a truck at the same time.
