OK just pulled the trigger on a vararam intake from moe's and I have a tune, exhaust mods, 170 stat and clutch fan delete , do y'all think a tb would be worth the money . I'm not sure after reading how you don't get much of a gain unless you have other mods to go with it and are the few mods I have going to show gains with the tb . I'm heavily debating the cost vs gains that I may or may not get.

IMO I would say pass on the TB and get gears or new torque converter.

Yeah....TB's ain't doin' much for the stock engine at all. You've got more that sufficient flow thought the TB so I'd save the money for another mod.

With your current mods, you would pick up about 10-12hp/tq from the tb. I would throw a set of longtubes on there first, and then go with the throttle body.

I thought about the longtubes but I was worried about warranty and I have the 8 speed and would have to spend more money on more exhaust work and really didn't want to spend that much .

There is always the under drive pulley. However I am not sure how much you would pick up since you already got rid of the clutch fan.

The longtube setups for these trucks actually clamp right onto your existing exhaust in front of the muffler, so the install is very easy. I do understand it being difficult to hide in the event of a warranty claim though.

If you are 2wd and have 3.21's, then a 3.92 swap is an easy upgrade that wont break the bank as well.

HAHA...It should run pretty strong as it sits. There is always more that can be done, but with your current mods, longtubes really should be the next step. They are the only mod you have left that will show more than 15hp without tearing into your motor.

its very strong now but everybody always wants more power. I know the people at my local dealer very well plus my mom works there maybe I can talk to a few of them off the record and see how they deal with mods then go from there

I would send your tuner a log just in case, but he shouldn't have to change much, if anything.
