I was amazed at how loose the chain was at 108k. Is this normal? I had at least an inch of slack on the slack side. I was also amazed at how bad the bearing on the wp was. I could move the fan quite a bit. Thoughts?

My thought would be a timing kit is cheap so if you have it torn down that far replace it. And the WP is not uncommon. I've had a few come in to my shop that when I took the belt off the pulley and fan came off with it. They were a solid few minutes away from a real **** show.

Yes, I am replacing it with cloyes unit. I was more curious about the chain tension. Dont know what normal is, but it seemed very loose.

Some people recommend using chain tensioners when swapping to the double roller set up. Maybe you could look into that? And on the water pump: mine was one of the ones that turned into a **** show. I was surprised the fan and clutch didn't fly off altogether.

I've read that before about the tensioner. Was that a factory part at one point? I have to look into it, thanks. Glad im not putting the fan back on.
