It has been raining all day here today.

I managed a few quick trips to the barn to install and adjust a battery charger.
I'm trying to get this couch off my ass, so I can get there and disconnect it after 6 hours of the 2A setting.

I have ravenous black flies already. Hoping to get up early during the next cool morning to swap over to the summer wheels.

i’m in total agreement with you. but i have no proof. the only thing that saved me was my rock sliders. the transfer case came off the trans and the rock sliders caught it otherwise it would have fallen off and i would have gone over it at 70 mph

you might not have proof in a court of law but we know the shop just didnt tighten the bolts correctly. its unfortunate but happens sometimes. thats why theres torq specs for litterly every bolt on a vehicle. other wise random parts would just fall off

ill go on a limb and say most shops dont correctly torq alot of stuff unless its mission critical like heads or crank mains. they probly figured two ugga duggas on your tcase would be good enough but it wasnt

i’m not gonna cast shade on the shop but i’m sure not gonna go back. i was under the truck and i didn’t see any were to mount the tranfer case other than bolt it to the transmission. but i removed a bunch of stuff to mount my rock sliders. if anyone can post a picture of a stock mount i would appreciate it. there doesn’t seem to be a place to tye it to the truck other than the transmission. i can’t remember if it has a mount for the t-case or not

i can’t remember if it had one or not. but it doesn’t look like it has a mount. or a place to mount a cross member

i’m thinking about some sort of a clamp ring that goes around the tail shaft and bolts to a cross member. i might look at trying to attach it to my rock sliders. i will measure the size of the tail shaft housing and then figure out some sort of a clamp

might have to put in some sort of a isolating thing to keep the vibration down

Yea with it connected to the motor and trans, which are on flexible mounts, you better make it flexible or your gonna cause problems…not just vibration problems

i think it’s because of the stress of the larger tires and the possibility that the transfer case was not properly installed. there is a lot of torque on those little studs. especially with a heavy truck and bigger tires. some sort of stiff mount less than a hockey puck but more than a pillow

i’m of the opinion that it is the torque on the t-case with no significant structural support is the problem. i plan to mount the t case on a piece of rubber on a cross member. but i believe that the torque/twisting force is the problem. especially with no support to prevent it bigger tires and a heavy foot is probably part of the problem too.

i’m going to have to find a way to limit the torque on the tcase

I think you are trying to come up with a solution to a problem that dosnt exist.

Theres a zillion power wagons running around with a lot bigger tires than 35s and there tcases are not falling off.

Yours simply wasnt installed right, so the bolts came loose and it fell off.

you are probably right i think it wasn’t put back together properly. but now the studs are compromised. so i plan to fabricate some kind of support

i think the big thing is the torque. the studs showed signs of twisting. and there is no support for the tcase. so i will have to make one. because my studs are compromised. i’m not really interested in having the tcase falling out 60kms back in the bush so i will have to make some sort of mount
