Went from my type rs to jlw3v3 and you can really tell the sound quality difference. The type rs did get lower then my jls. On jls website they recommend .625 cu ft of air space for a sealed encloser and I have .8. Should I add poly fill so it hits the low?

Is .625 cu/ft without the displacement of the subwoofer?
add a pound of poly and see if it makes a difference

If you have .8, then you are .175cu/ft bigger already. Adding poly-fil slows down the air movement inside the box "tricking" the sub to think its in a bigger box. You'd need to cut and shorten the depth of the box to make it smaller, or fill it with something solid to make up the airspace.

You need to fill 0.175 cu ft up. 1 cu ft is 1728 cubic inchs (12*12*12). Times by 0.175 = 302.4 cubic inch. So you need to fill the box with a peice 10inchx10inchx3inch thick to create the proper air space for said sub

The subs not hitting the proper notes as the box is to large causing less back pressure then the sub requires as stated above poly fools it into thinking it's larger box. You need to fill as I described in previous post

You are by no mean to large for those w3's they like bigger spec boxes. Most manufactures put recommendations that are a good starting point and are ment for good all round performance, JL is no different with this. Sealed boxes are tuneable just like ported so use polyfill to help you tune it to the sound you want and if it looks like you need more air space either just run the poly or expand the box a bit.
