I absolutely hate laying down to ride a MC, not running a MOTO race doing 80 through a corner. I also hate APE Bars, frack, my arms hurt enough not to have them suspended in mid air, lmao.

If U not know, with a Trike and they way they track, there is NO LEANING, or COUNTER STEER on a Trike. Good way to lose control and end up on yer head if U go crazy. That are the 2 things I miss most going from 2-3 wheels. But then, it sure is a lot easier sitting at a light, not having to throw out a leg and hold up a motorcycle at a light, or in friggin traffic, or the Dreaded Kickstand going through gravel or tar in a parking lot.

CAVEAT: The way a TRIKE tracks and rear pushes straight is why Trike riders go through front tires every 6-10K miles, they usually good for about 8K till time to pay the Master: Dunlop or Bridgestone @$250 a piece more or less, not counting mounting.
I don't normally lay down to ride it, just nice on one stretch of my ride to work when it was colder. I'd tuck down behind my little wind screen. I mount my own bike tires, just don't have the means to mount and balance my truck tires. I've also pretty much done 100% of my maintenance and mods on both except inspection. I'd do that to,but im not certified. LOL

I take to Bike shop ref tires. Have not replaced dual rear ones yet. My next mission is oil change and also rear brake replacement, if I can even find the brakes, that gonna take a lil bit of searching. Tires easier to get, brakes are a MO FO. Oil change easy: BUT I got no way to get over 2,000 lbs of Trike up: so gotta lay down on garage floor and do the hard way.

ADDED: and no, backing up on ramps in the rear not work: Push all oil to front. Remember: On these Honda's with 1832 Boxer motors, all 3 oils are in (1) slush pan: so U gotta be real picky on oil, filter and watch ref additives.

WHY has this thread been hi-jacked toward motorcycles…? It is about un-intended accelerator-action. Moderators…. Split…..??

Keeps the thread from being boring and going dead;)
If you don't like it,you don't have to read it:Big Laugh:
It’s not that I don’t “like it”….. I was just wondering how it shifted topics.

Between the bikes I’ve wrecked…and the ones I’ve restored…. And the road-trips and flat-trakkin’…. (Whatever happened to the HorseBarn in No. Houston?)…. The only one I still have is my ‘34 Harley VLD.

That's the natural order of forums (and conversations). The first 3 pages equate to the original topic if you're lucky, then it goes conversational and just meanders into whatever the next guy gets jogged loose in his brain from some random word in the last post.

The engine has an RPM limiter and I'm pretty sure the push button isn't going to shut the vehicle off while you're in drive and moving. Turning the key off will also lock the steering column and you'll lose power steering and brakes. If you're at a stop already, not a huge deal, but if you aren't stopped...

Put it in neutral, get to a stop, then turn it off.
Steering columns don’t lock any more in park or when the engine is shut off. We hashed that one out a month or two ago. Effort does get a bunch higher however.

There's a feature that was a royal PITA. Friggin locking steering wheel.

1) NICE RIDE. Is that a pan head? Hmmmmm, nice seat, I'm spoiled, like the ride of my TRIKE. Kinda looks like there may have been saddle bags on it or you have the ability to put bags on it. If you do, wateva you do, no "Indian" fringe, yuk.
2) QUIT ref our senility and wandering all over the place on posts. (sic). Makes the forum interesting.

As far as Horsebarn in North Houston, maybe Sherman Bird could chime in if he has any recollection.

It’s a Flat Head. The ‘34 VLD was the First 74 cu in V-twin made by HD.
THIS PARTICULAR VLD was the ‘34 DEMONSTRATOR…. bought by my friend’s father for his 19th B-day gift in ‘35 when the new models rolled-out. *

After Beryl retired (he was my first jet-instructor) and moved into assisted living, he called me and told me to come pick it up, he was giving it to me.
I told him, “You can’t do that, Beryl…that’s a family heirloom…your son is going to want that!”

“EFF-Frank! He didn’t come visit me in hospital twenty years ago! You DID!
… besides, I”ve already signed the Title over to You…. and don’t sell it…. HD wants it back for their museum…and they’ve already offered me Any New H.D. I want if they can have it back!”

* It’s also a total-loss oil system. The dry-sump engine has an oil-tank built into the gas tank. (separate tank cap) Every second gas fillup …. also pour a qt of SAE50 into the oil tank.
The engine breather vents onto the primary-chain…which slings the oil-vapor onto the secondary chain…which slings it onto the roadway. (keeps the chains lubricated…. 1934 roads were mostly dirt.)
It’s a 3-speed shifter on the left side of the gas tank, and a “rocker” clutch under the left foot.

The Right Twist-Grip is the throttle…as you might expect.
The LEFT Twist-Grip is for a different purpose: Care to Guess what-for..?
