Upgrade Drag Link?

Looking at upgrading my drag link. I'm running into problems getting an alignment due to the crappy recall weld "fix" and I've never been overly impressed with the feel of the steering on this truck. Particularly, at slow speeds. Watching some vids online I see there are some upgraded draglinks available. They claim to be much more durable and have a better feel. Has anyone done this and how do you like it? A brand recommendation would be great. Truck is a 2014 2500 6.4 Hemi. No lift or other relevant mods.

Thanks.... I actually stopped into the Ram dealer near the tire shop that refused to do the alignment and service guy didn't mention that. Just said they'd re-weld the part after cutting and aligning. Also, they want $225 for an alignment which is at least 2X the going rate for my area. Fwiw, they are my least favorite dealer of the ones around me because of crap like this.

i bit the bullet as so as i heard about. i bought a aftermarket one the only nl problem is that it was thicker

Back in 2019 when I replaced (used an indy shop) on my 2006 2500 HD they installed Moog HD set up, the alignment was farmed out and it only cost me $99.00..

IIRC the 2018+ drag link will directly replace the 2017 and previous drag link. It is an updated design, very similar to a lot of the aftermarket ones out there. If the recall has been closed out on your truck I think you'll have to pay for it...they considered 'welding' the fix, but once the 2018 links were available it was considered an 'option' for those who hadn't had them welded. I never had it done on my 2017.

Recalls with Ram are odd, in that I have seen two where there were 'optional' fixes. For instance, on my '22, there was a recall on the transmission dipstick, evidently if it got too hot it could pop out and spray trans fluid under the hood. Fix #1 was to pull the dipstick and tube and plug the hole in the trans. Fix #2 was to swap the old non-locking dipstick for a locking one...I'm not a fan of the 'sealed system' transmissions (or the Hurricane's lack of an engine oil dipstick), so of course I went with the locking dipstick...but like why is there even an option to plug the hole when it's quicker labor-wise to just swap the dipstick?

A good friend is now in the process of getting his 2nd 6.2 GM motor replaced. The 2nd one lasted just over 4000 miles and was using the new 10W-40 oil that was suppose to fix the issue.

According to news reports the crankshafts in question were made by a long time supplier in Mexico who has made them for GM, Ford, and Toyota in the past, but had outsourced GMs to another manufacturer.

A good friend is now in the process of getting his 2nd 6.2 GM motor replaced. The 2nd one lasted just over 4000 miles and was using the new 10W-40 oil that was suppose to fix the issue.
