I have the 2.5 HBS leveling kit on my truck. I checked the UCA's the other day and guess what, my ball joint on the drivers side lifted a little. my question is, if I bought new UCA's from Zone Off road will that take care of the problem? I kinda need piece of mind on this issue, it's frustrating and scary. Has anyone had a or know of someone having an accident do to this problem? For the people that have the Zone arms, how are they doing? Are you happy with them? Thanks!:favorites13:

The zone UCAs will solve this problem. They have a lot more range of movement than your factory UCAs. They are also beastly compared to factory.

no experience with the ZONE UCA's but they are meant to work at that kind of angle. that would be a sound investment in the long run I think. the bushing / joints are replaceable which is nice.

Hello I'm new here.
I have 2014 ram and have rough country 2.5 leveling kit and also have this issue with ball joints.
I bought and had the Zone UCA installed yesterday and now my front of my truck has that look that it's not leveled. Maybe it's just me lol.
I also have nitto terra 275_65_20.
All I can say after install the truck rides better in the front end just feels real good.

Crap! I hope my truck sits the same after the UCA's are installed. I love the way it sits now.

DRAGO,

are your CV angles still harsh because of the spacer ? or does the UCA infact help put the CV's back to a closer to stock angle.

How will I know if I'm having a problem with my joints? I have a 2" lift on the way. I'm worried now, never heard about this before ordering.

Just watch the ball joint in the upper control arm it could start be pushed up out of the control arm.

How you think the truck with oem air suspension don't have ball joint issues since they lift themselves.???

Do you have a picture after the UCAs instal? I have a 14' too and I'm about to run the same set up but I don't want to spend that money if i end up at stock height

Hey Bigmutha
I had the same concern immediately after my Bilstein 2.1" level and Zone Offroad upper control arm install. After a 100 mile ride and 2 days I remeasured and found Front was 38 1/2 and rear was 39 1/4.
See how it sits after a fewdays

I was wondering the same thing...

How you think the truck with oem air suspension don't have ball joint issues since they lift themselves.???

I too was wondering if the ball joints on the air suspensions will give grief....perhaps depending on how much time the truck spends in the
upper position?

I think the difference is that with an OEM Air Suspension, everything has been designed to work within the ride height settings of the Air Suspension.

When you are talking about an aftermarket lift, you are now making the suspension operate outside of its designed parameters, so that is when you start running into issues.

So with that said how you think they would react to a lift installed on them?
