I am changing ring and piñon and looking at different brands. Motive gears are $255.00 and Yukon are $450.00. Are they that much better? What gears are some of you guys running and what did they cost.

Thanks

Yukon are some of the best. Depends on your application. If you aren't going performance you can sometimes call a gear shop and get factory takeouts nothing wrong with them for 1/4 the cost.

Do not purchase Yukon! Nitro gear is the way to go.

Had two sets fail on me and they took no responsibility for it even though they knew their product was inferior. There is a massive difference between a 3.90 and a 3.92 gear set. Yukon’s pinion was tiny compared to the Nitro gearset.

Read the fine print! When I redid the Jeep (can't remember the brand that it was), there was a company that if you put 35s on it would basically void the warranty for the fronts. Didn't matter of you had lockers or not.

I've had good luck with Yukon's in my Dakota. The Richmond's I took out were very loud in comparison. OEM is a good choice as well.

Moes has OEM fairly cheap, but I've used Richmond and would probably use Nitro, Know the guys there, and they make great product!

I bought my 4.10s from Matt at Moe's. They've been perfect.

I used Yukon 4.56 for my build. Haven't tried the others but the installer had zero problems for the rear diff.
