From what I have seen it hasn't ever get plugged up. Granted I don't drive mine hard. if your oil was bad or you don't use synthetic oil it probably would. I use mobil 1 extended mileage 5w20 and the 15,000 mile oil filter that fram sells to keep my oil like brand new.

The little filter on the right of the picture by where you put oil in is it.

It is the 10$ specter breather filter from autozone and I put it directly where the hose connected to go to your air intake.
To the person who said my oil won't last as long I run it 10,000 miles every time. It all depends on how you drive your vehicle to how to oil last

All you have done is put a filter on the crank case inlet. That is NOT going into the Intake Manifold. The factory air filter does the same thing you have done. Most CAI's have a nipple like the factory intake that also use the filtered air. That has nothing to do with catching the junk passing from the PCV Valve.
It is important to prevent trash from being sucked in there but that is NOTING to do with what a catch can does.
The PVC vents out of the crank case, not into it. It is located on the other side of the engine toward the back. The tube from the PCV connects on the front of the engine. Catch cans go between the PCV and the Intake Manifold and catch the junk before being sucked into the intake.
Pull off the Tube that connects the PCV to Intake and wipe a rag or your finger in there and you will get a sample of the junk everyone is talking about.

You are looking at the wrong hose. The PCV line is the black hard line that runs from the PCV valve on the back passenger side of your intake manifold to just under the throttle body...that is the line that is replaced with the catch can. The small filter you added will do nothing to keep oil from pumping back into your intake manifold...looks cool though.

It's on Billet Technology website I don't know about moe's.
I thought the catch can was always on the passengers side, thanks for clearing that up. So what is the purpose of the filter that was installed on the drives side in the photo? Is there a benift of doing that over just the push in Crome PVC filter ?

Alright I wasn't going to respond anymore because people seem to be looking to argue. Where my filter is. is where you remove the hard line going to the intake which oil DOES come out to go to the intake. I removed it to keep oil from going back into my intake like they are all set up to do and put the filter there. that simple.

I am not trying to be argumentative, just trying to clarify.
You added your filter to a different line than where the Catch Can installs.
The hard line you are talking about is the one that plugs into the stock air filter housing. (air breather line?)

the Catch Can replaces the PCV line which runs from the PCV to below the throtle body.

I knew this would start a " octane boosters suck" post from someone. I am saying that I can actually tell a difference with the NOS boosters. EVERY time I have run it I could feel a difference. I run a 93 octane Hemifever tune, so 87 or 89 is NOT gonna do it in my truck. If I have inferior fuel in my truck I am sure it doesn't run like it is supposed to. And the NOS does make a difference. I agree that almost all of the additives like that are snake oil. But not NOS. Sorry, it does work. And he didn't ask about what to clean his TB with, he asked about fuel additives. That's why I brought up the NOS. Not to clean his TB. He already had cleaned it like he said. Let's not turn this into a "bashing session" all I did was give my opinion (based on MY experience with MY truck), with my tune, with my bad gas I get sometimes. I guess I need to run a log on my Trinity next time it isn't running top notch and then do one immediately afterward with some NOS in it and see if it was pulling timing or fuel or whatever due to some slight knock? I will do that and see if there is a difference.

Also, I am interested in this Seafoam in the vacuum hose thing. I have read only one post about that and I really would like to have more info on tha.

As for the Seafoam through the vacuum hose it's pretty simple, especially if you have the catch can installed. There's a lot of videos on youtube of people doing it, because of the impressive cloud of smoke it creates. But its a very effective cleaning product. I bought a 30 year old Johnson 60 a few years back that had issues idling and would sometimes bog down at WOT. Did a seafoam treatment on it and she runs like a top now, and when I lifted it 30 years of grime dumped out with the water in the unit. It'll clean your TB. Some people swear by putting a third of a can in the crankcase, but I'm really hesitant to put anything but oil in my crankcase.

I don't want to disparage what works for anyone. If running whatever helps you, go for it. There's a lot of misunderstanding of what the octane rating of a fuel means though, and that's clever marketing by gas companies. I want to be clear that octane rating defines the combustibility of the fuel, and it's tendency to pre-ignite. Higher octane allows for higher compression. That's what it really means. It surprises a lot of people when they find that most 'premium' fuels have fewer BTUs per gallon than their 'regular' counterparts... A lot of things surprises people about the refined fuel industry actually, I chalk that up to creative marketing departments trying to figure out how to make people believe their product is better when it's the same as their competitor's, they're damn good at their jobs.

Everyone makes mistakes. People are just trying to help you out. You are not required to accept it. No one is force you to be correct.

I use this at oil changes, it works great but I only use it at night since after use you look like you've joined the Navy and are laying a smoke screen. Use as directed and it will clean from throttle body to cylinder.
