Hi guys,

I have been a wrangler owner for a long time. Thinking about getting rid of it for a 2025 ram rebel. I really like the turbo motor and the interior seems worlds above.

I know jeeps don't have the best ride quality so I am thinking since it's my daily id be very happy with the rebel.

The only thing that concerns me a little is the size and length of the truck. Parking and certain daily tasks. Assuming I'd get use to it and would be no big deal though.

Just curious if anyone else has came from a wrangler and more importantly how you guys like dallying your rams?

Thanks and possibly placing an order for a 25 this weekend

Funny, I am actually kind of thinking of going the opposite direction as you. I'm thinking about swapping out for a Gladiator (not a Wrangler but same general idea) from my 1500 (Bighorn, not Rebel). I actually do REALLY love this truck and unless you just do crazy wheeling, I don't think you would regret the Rebel. The 1500 is more roomy, better power, can tow more, can haul more. The Jeep is really just better for crazy offroading, IMO. Personally though, if I was going back to the 1500, I might wait until next year when the (rumored) V8 should come back.

Lol that's funny. Yea i live in NJ and with work and family there are no close fun offroading spots. I actually bought the jeep for bad weather like snow and flooded roads. I had a little vw and ended up sleeping in it on the side of the road one day in October when we had a crazy snow storm and the roads were trashed. After that I wanted a jeep just to get through situations like that but I assume a ram would be just as good in bad weather conditions.

Went from a 2017 JKU to the 2017 Ram 1500. Easy swap over. The rear backup camera helps out a lot. Just remember you're much wider. And MORE POWER. LOL

I switched from a 2023 Tacoma 4x4 V6 double cab to a 2021 Rebel Night Edition Hemi.
That Tacoma beat me up for 35,000 miles in one year. What a difference to pass someone without the truck sounding and jerking like it was gonna explode. That transmission in the Taco could never figure out what gear to be in. Tiny interior in that Taco to have SO MUCH room now for back seat passengers. All my tools and gear for work, fit under the back seat. Love the buttery smooth transmission and that lovely Hemi rumble.
Pssst...whatya gonna do with your ducks? ;):p

I'm sorta gone in the opposite direction, I have CC w/6.4' bed which has the largest turning radius of the 1500s to also having a 2dr JK to drive. I can spin the JK around in a three lane road where as the Ram is a 3-point turn.
Try to back into parking spots and remember to always use your side view mirrors. The back up camera and rearview mirror is just for what's straight behind you, unless you need to know what's directly behind you then ignore them.
As for the ride, the Ram rides like a Cadillac compared to the JK.

You'll do fine with a Ram 1500 4x4 for winter driving. For winter driving it's as much about the tires as it is the vehicle from my 45 years of driving experience. The tires on the DT Rebel are 3PMSF rated and work well in winter conditions. It'll serve you well for year-round driving.

This was the vehicle I traded on my ram. I hated it, it was impulse buy, just not very practical or comfortable for a grown man. I had to slow down to 35 mph in a wind storm to not be blown over, and a week later I bought the ram been in it for 15 years now. Got some real tires on the ram, no more slowing to 35 on the freeway no matter how windy. I would however look for a lease return on a hemi though, the Hurricane is a big unknown and I encourage you to see the issues with it and the dealer response to those issues. I miss a lot of my old cars, especially my three broncos, never missed the jeep. Literally the only thing I liked was all the room to work around the engine bay.

I'd stab myself in the eye before I used a Wrangler as a DD, personally. Now, in a city where parking is tight but I still wanted to be able to hop curbs, fine. I don't mind renting one on occasion, but no desire to own one.

1500 isn't bad at all unless you've got very tight parking lots, really low parking garages, etc. Move up to a 2500, though, and the turning radius and generally bloatiness of the truck becomes more apparent. Trade offs required for any choice.

I apprecite the reply. I'm kind of sick of the hemi. I've had a 392 for a while and I know I'm the oddball out but I prefer the feel of a turbo motor. Maybe I just need some change for now. None the less I'm hoping the hurricane will be a great motor but I'm willing to give it a shot!

The stock Goodyear tires that were on my 21 Warlock were terrible in the winter!
WHY I trashed the SRA's and went to the Falkens, and sold the SRA's as a set for $125.00, gas money, LOL.

That is specifically a toy. Something to have to drive dunes, etc.,. no practicality for doing stuff. Now, if yer pockets are flushed and money not an issue: Get you a Good RAM, trim specific to yer needs and buy yer plaything for playing around.

ADDED: I would luv to have a 2021 Chevy Camaro, with the 6.2 LT (manual trans), Supercharged sedan in the driveway, but not practical, doesn't do well whether on a grocery run or pulling a trailer. BUT I sure wish I had the $$$ to spare to get one.

CAVEAT: The only Jeep type I ever owner/driven not counting M151A2/3 jeeps in Military was a '74 AWD Cherokee. That puppy literally go anywhere. Had the "famed" oil burner 304 under the hood. Even in the NE, winters, never had a care in the world as far as travel anywhere. But that was another time and life, lol.

All above IMHO ONLY!!
