I don't think he does. This is a pic that he posted earlier in the thread, and it really only looks like he has the 9 wires, but I can't tell for sure. The fact that his memory seats work, would make me think that he should have at least the CAN wires for the memory seats, but I can't tell from the picture if he does.

It looks just like mine. The two memory switch wires are there, but no CAN.

Donor is 4x2 Laramie 4dr Quad Cab 6.3 ft. SB Pickup, thanks Rick, sucks it does not have it though.

Adding Heated/Ventelated seats and Heated Wheel to Express/Tradesman

Got the new seats in yesterday afternoon and installed them last night. The airbag light went out as hoped for. Three issues though. One the heated seats are not as hot and seem to take longer to warm up. Two the heated seats and wheel are not coming on with remote start. Three the memory seat no longer works? I did not hook up the AE to check and clear any DTCS, hopefully that is all it is.

Oh and I took better pictures of the connectors. Not sure why the memory seat was working with the 5500 seats, and not sure why it no longer works with the 15 1500 seats? Wierd???

Congrats on getting your new seats in Cpt. I've got nothing for you on wiring or why the changes between your seats. At least you have the AE tool so if it is just setting you can fix easy enough. I am seriously considering buying the AE tool as well.

All I can say is I replaced my drivers seat with a Laramie leather seat with electric & memory. Man that is the greatest upgrade ever. That stock cloth manual seat is total $hit. I am in heaven now & I don't have anything working but the electric. Now I just need to find a matching passenger seat. If anyone in their search for seats comes across a Black leather laramie seat for a good price($250 or less). Please let me know

250.00 for a Laramie drivers seat, that's a pretty tall order. You may find one, in rough shape or a parts seat. Pretty much 400.00 and up these days plus shipping. But you may get lucky. What about your backseat are you going to replace that or do you have a regular cab?

I got a nice backseat as well. So really did well with what I got. I say $250 just because shipping will probably run another $100-150. I'm in no hurry so hope to snag one cheap in time. I found one possibility

Wonder if the 5500 doesnt have all the memory options as the 1500-3500 so the seat is all that moves. Or did the function work your mirrors, pedals, and such?

Did not work the mirrors, and could not work the pedals, no hardware installed for the pedals.

So, I had my battery disconnected for a while as I was monkeying around in the dash. After I put everything back together the radio booted up fine and I hit the heated seat soft key on the splash screen to turn off the seat. It worked, but then the screen changed and the soft keys moved. The driver and passenger labels swapped, and the steering wheel moved to the right side of the screen. I assumed the seat buttons moved as well, but they didn't. The sole button on the left that's labeled "passenger" still controls the driver's seat. So weird!

I also lost my RAM splash screen and have the UConnect one now instead.

did you change your truck to a European code by accident previous to this?

Nope. I haven't changed anything in quite some time. I tried disabling the heated seats and enabling the vented ones and it didn't change the screen. It's like it's going to some default setting and not reading from the BCM.

I did a factory reset and now I lost my themes and my auto dim mirror button.

None of it is the end of the world because I don't use the soft keys on that screen and I've never turned my auto dim mirror off, but it concerns me that it just changed without me doing anything. If this was a side effect I saw right away when I added the radio it would be worth it. It bugs me more because I lost something I used to have and don't have anything to show for it or anything to blame. [emoji20]

Did you try a factory reset on the radio?

I think he said he did the reset and then lost the themes and auto dim mirror soft key. That is so strange. Even if it went into fault I don't understand why the seat soft keys would change sides. Makes me nervous with my 16 radio. I had my 14 radio go into the Uconnect screen and lose the Max AC soft key. I reloaded the Firmware and it went back to normal.

Have not had a chance to hook up the AE to my truck yet, to see if I can get the remote start heated seat and wheel function back. On stock 8.4 trucks this function can be toggled on and of thru SETTINGS/ AUTO ON COMFORT & REMOTE START or so it says in my 2014 owners manual on page 316. For trucks not equipped with the 8.4 IE bighorn the setting supposedly can be toggled in the EVIC under personal settings , page 316.

I looked for this setting in my radio (no gots) need to check the EVIC. I wonder if the AE has the ability to add the option settings to the Radio or EVIC?

I suspect that the reason I no longer have this ability is the donor truck had disabled this feature and the seat module is "SET" to not use Auto on comfort. So one of my options would be to swap the modules. But I still have hope that when I clear any DTCs the function will return.

There are a few such situations where we do not have control of or can toggle on and off certain functionality. For instance Nav displayed in the EVIC, there is supposed to be a menu setting in the radio for this, very few folks have upgraded from RA1 or RA2 seem to have this setting, yet it works but if we should loose it we have no way to turn it back on. I remember also when we first started the 8.4 mod some guys auto dim mirror worked yet they had no soft key to toggle, mine did not work until I recently added the soft key.

What I am getting at and it sucks in some cases is that for some items we may be at the mercy of the settings as they were in the donor vehicle. Anyway if it ever warms up enough (8 degrees this morning) going to get out there and plug in the laptop.

My seats come on at 39 or 40 automatically o don't have remote start
I looked yesterday in the evic and radio I couldn't find the option to turn off/on in either place I put radio into eng mode and looked also

I do not have the Auto Comfort Setting in my radio or my EVIC but I do have the function. My heated seats and wheel plus my mirror heaters turn on at 40° if I use the remote start. My heated seats and wheel turn on if it's 40° or less if I start the truck normally but my heated mirrors don't turn on automatically. If I remember correctly 00/RT has the Comfort Control setting in his radio.

Correct. I have the comfort settings in my radio. I also have the setting for the nav in the EVIC.
