@justinkyleo Don't get too discouraged yet! So you have looked at your first config you pulled when connecting to Alfa and the most recent one from yesterday or whenever you made the change? If you have and went line by line comparing, then you had to of missed something. Trust me, it is extremely easy to do. I still have double vision looking through mine from the past couple days.

You could also try pulling the positive and negative battery cables off and letting the truck sit for more than 20 minutes. Then reconnect and let everything come back.

After RAM flashed my BCM I used Notedpad++ with the compare plugin to check the config line by line. From the main log just copy each set of configs into a separate file in Notepad++ then drag one of the tabs to the side to "open in other view." Then use the compare plug in and it will give you all the differences line by line.

I wonder if the IPC Config one is for the EVIC based config menus that you get when you have the RA1 Radio and therefore don't have the settings menu on the radio?

Is there any way to have the ventilated seats come on automatically? My driver seat does, but only in low and I would like them to start on high. Also have auto recirculation come on as well.

I have changed the splash screen settings before on my 16'. If I remember correctly it just made it go blank. I was able to revert back by choosing "vehicle brand" which I believe is the first option. In my config it said "None/Vehicle Brand" before changing this setting. In later config it still says the same after reverting back.

Splash screen, vehicle brand and vehicle line are all tied together.

A quick note for anyone else having trouble getting a System Status on the Driver Door Module and further praise for the author. After having @Ricks Ram confirm that it wasn't just my truck that wasn't giving a system status for the module readout I sent the error off to the author along with the usual debug file and examples. He had the bug located, fixed and a patched copy for me to try in less than 6 hours. I just tried it and the Driver Door Module System Status now works correctly. The fix will be in the next general release.

Has anyone successfully connected to the radio with AlphaOBD? I get an "Unknown ISO Code" when I try. Not sure if it's because I have an upgraded radio from a different year truck or if it's a bug. The error came with an integral option to send the code to the author so I did, along with info on the truck and radio specifics.

No unfortunately the Auto On Comfort only works for the drivers seat. It starts on high when you use remote start and then lowers when you insert the key. When you actually start it with the key it starts on low. I haven't seen anything in the tool that can change those settings.

Not sure about 2014 but I believe at least the newer trucks the radio is separate from most of the other modules for security purposes. Similar to the 2018s needing a bypass module, but I think the radio has been separate for longer than just 2018, since its connected to a cell network they need to keep it private from the rest of the truck modules in case someone hacks in (which someone has already done)

Trailer Name Settings:


I had not seen this covered (but could have missed it since this thread is getting huge) but I know in some of the early 4th gen HD trucks you had the ability to re-name the trailer brake slots at the evic to put a custom name in there so you knew which trailer the settings were for etc. My 2016 with the uconnect 8.4 and premium EVIC just had them named trailer 1, 2 etc in the uconnect settings with no way to change them.

I found this setting in my log "Trailer name customer settings menu: Not set" so I thought I would change it to see what happened. Under the Car configuration change menu there is a Trailer Name CSM setting and I changed it to yes (was no).

When I initially changed it it threw some sort of error and basically seemed to crash. I was not able to grab a screen shot or any other info so today I thought I would try and recreate it. When I went to the setting it now said "yes" so apparently it did change it even though it kicked some sort of error message.

While I can't add custom names it now allows me a list to choose from. Better then having them all named trailer 1, 2 etc. Pretty happy about this little mod since I have multiple trailers.
why they don't have this enabled from the factory is beyond me? It's there why not use it.

Did you have the brake controler from the factory or was it added later by the dealer or yourself? I ask because my 2014 with the controller from the factory has all three settings already set from the factory.

I got the below back from the author, so it looks like he's working on a way to connect. I just checked the current release version of the tool and most of the radio module options aren't even in the list under Radio. The patched copy he sent me for another issue seems to have some work in progress features in it and I hadn't realized they were new.

That’s strange. My 2017 has factory controller and came with the 5.0 radio, and the trailer names were there. I have since had 2 aftermarket radios with the maestro, and the names show up in both of them. I’ve never had an 8.4 radio in there to try, though.

I can confirm that my 2016 2500 with factory trailer brake controller and 8.4 nav also didn't have the trailer name csm active. I turned it on with alfa as well and it works like the manual states. You do have to have the particular trailer preset active to change the name.

I just went out and checked mine. The naming option is there as predicted by the BCM setting.

I also went through the BCMs in the shared drive:

14 - (mine) Naming option set (is also set for integrated brake controller)
15 - Not set (but also not set for integrated brake controller)
16 - Not set (but also not set for integrated brake controller)
17 - Not set (but is set for integrated brake controller)
18 - Not set (but also not set for integrated brake controller)

The only thing I can't tell is if the '17 had the controller from the factory or if it was added later and the option added or set with AE or Alpha. I know mine was factory.

Yours seems to have been in the same situation as the '17.

The only difference I can think of for mine is that up until yesterday, I had the RA2 radio. I just put an RA4 in yesterday.

Ok, so I have set my DRL's to the turn signals and they work.
Adjusted my TPME threshold and it shows changed and my idiot light is off, but the screen still pops up and shows the back tires are low. Any ideas of something I need to change?

Just changing the threshold won't do the trick. There's a whole procedure to go through and you'll need your trucks RF Hub pin # from the dealer. The procedure is detailed in the TPMS.pdf file on the Info_Issues folder on the shared drive (see first post).

Here is the config from my 2015 Laramie 5.7 Crew Cab 4x4. I made the following changes:

• Enabled DRLs (turn signal LED strip)
• Auto re-lock
• Global up and down (Only down works)
• Trailer name CSM (No errors enabling it and works as expected. No idea why it wasn't on from the factory.)

Otherwise the truck had the following from the factory if anyone needs it as a reference for settings:

• Integrated brake controller
• Auto high beams
• Rain sensitive windshield wipers
• Power folding and dimming mirrors
• Heated / Vented seats & heated wheel
• Rear view cam
• Front and rear parking sensors
• Remote start

I still need to enable the VTA since it doesn't seem like all the options came set from the factory.

The other odd one I had to turn on was the CSM for auto high beams. They always worked, I just never had the menu item for it in UConnect.

Edit: @Ricks Ram Interesting to note, looking through Roman217 config that he has Dual ATC in his Laramie yet the humidity sensor is listed not set. Going to check Mpgrimms2's config as well.
