I still have a question about programming window down and window up? does it work for someone? I ask because both options are encoded and they only take the windows down - it doesn't close up anymore even though it's set to Yes.

Global up does not work.

I assume they took that part away for safety reasons (imagine sending the windows up when you cant see the truck to notice someones arm, or worse, will get caught).

That's a plausible reason, the auto up feature does detect obstructions though and sends the window back down. Many with in channel rainvisors have had to modify them slightly because the safety is rather sensitive.

Yep, I just assumed they didnt really want to test that it would work 100% of the time.

Honestly cant blame them....I mean something as simple as having the fob in your jeans the wrong way could press the buttons just right and possibly cause an injury.

I just still can’t even understand why anybody would want to be able to roll all four windows down at the press of a button in the first place… LOL.

To me that just really doesn’t seem like a lacked feature to lose sleep over.

DOWN works but it only does the fronts AFAIK.

Ive used it a couple times, if its really hot out its nice to open the windows ahead of time to vent some of the really hot interior air. All 3 of my vehicles have the feature but honestly most of the time Ill just park in a parking garage if I know its going to be really hot.

For days like this and we have no trees or parking garages. Just sand, concrete and blacktop. Just glad my truck is white, lol

So it gets a little above 100°...lol. 116° here on a hot, sunny summer day here in southern Oklahoma might be considered record temps but still, 100, 102, 104 and even 105 degree temps ain’t no reason to have all your windows roll down at once, lol. But how do you use that feature for it to even be remotely necessary??

I’m not gonna lie to ya, it gets hotter than a $2 pistol here where I live and I even have a darker-colored pickup with legal window tint and, I’ve never thought I’d benefit from being able to roll all four windows down at once. And not to mention the fact that I’m an extremely hot-natured person as well who hates heat and was raised in a non-humid environment.

But I guess because I keep a high-quality sunshade in my windshield when parked, keep my sunroof cover closed and have remote start, I just simply cannot see how this is a useful feature.

Sounds like you don’t live anywhere where it gets to be 100+ degrees. Enjoy that luxury. Lol

Definitely not. During the summer maybe hit 90 for a couple of days. I do have global down enabled and do use it during the summer

Most of the guys who use this feature are the ones who don't have remote start. They will push there unlock button twice and have the front windows roll down to let some of the sweltering heat escape as they walk across a parking lot and get in the truck and start it. It's also nice even if you have remote start to let some of the heat out. There is no cost in doing it if you already have the Alfa tool because all you do is enable the code so most people enable it even if they rarely use it.

I'd be too worried about the rain. I'd prefer a global close and lock everything so I can go to sleep without thinking "did I shut my windows/sunroof" then instead of having the one time you say "nah it's fine" coming out to your truck after a freezing rain storm...it's no fun.

Once connected to the bcm, under car configuration, set VehConfig 3 high intensity discharge lights to enable, look for fog light drop out. Set that to disable. About halfway down you'll see led options. Enabled what you need

Hmm. Even before I had a vehicle with remote start, I still never would have figured this as a worthy feature- and this was even with a black car, too. It never got up to a 116° over on the eastern slope of Colorado but it would hit 105, 106 regularly in the summer.

Hot is hot irregardless of how high the mercury is when it’s over a hundred.

So has anyone who enabled global down accidentally rolled the windows down without knowing it? It's the only reason I haven't enabled it yet....

Yes, the aftermarket companies have solutions for that. They seem kind of pricey but they require clutch and ebrake sensors etc

It's almost impossible to accidentally do it. You have to double click the unlock button and on the second click you have to hold down. As soon as you let go the windows stop. And it doesn't work a 100% of the time.
