^^^^ what Chrisbh17 said.

Yes the mics go all the way to the back of the radio connector.

Go here and look for radio C1 connector...

So if I want my side mirrors to dim, I could get the 911/Assist AutoDim rear view mirror 68096091AF + covers. Would I need a different wiring harness?

Wow, love that link! Says pins 29 and 30 are for the microphone. The diagram points out pin 31-40. But is pin 30 directly "below" pin 40, or is it "below" pin 31?

Thanks!

Your current manual dim mirror harness won't work, you need one of the mirrors below and either one of the 2 harnesses. Just have to decide if yo may want to add the extras that come with the second harness for your 2014 1500...

. . 911/Assist AutoDimming Mirror: - 68096091AF (Req's Sales Code) (2013-2016 Trucks)
. . . (AutoDim Mirror Mount Covers: Upper - 1ZA39DX9AA & Lower - 1YW13DX9AB )

. . or 911/AutoDim w/AutoHighBeam Mirror: - 68096094AA (Req's Sales Code)
. . . (AutoDim w/AutoHighBeam Covers: Upper - 1ZA39DX9AA & Lower - 1YW14DX9AC )

----------------------
- Mirror Header harness (Standard/Autodim): 68207372AB

- Mirror Header harness (premium, ie 14+ 1500's with Humidity & Rain Sensor plugs) : 68207371AD
** ATC Humidity sensor needs additional wire on male/ truck side **

Thanks for clearing up where pins 29/30 are in relation to other pins, except why are the numbers in your diagram flipped upside down from the diagram from connectors.dcctools.com? And, do you think I am risking damaging the microphone port on my aftermarket radio by feeding the oem mirror microhone into it?

AlfaOBD will list the factory microphone type/resistance in your truck... Whether that's compatible with your aftermarket radio is unknown.

The DCCtools connector site shows the connector from the front. I manually edited the picture.

I have a 2018 Ram 1500 Express. I found an auto dimming mirror with auto highbeam dim on ebay. The auto highbeam finally appears in my light setting after 2 days of doing drive/ignition cycles. But it does not work, as when I push the stalk back, I get no message that the auto dim is working in the cluster. The rear mirror is getting power as the red light is on.

I added all the settings in the alfaobd word document of settings. One other strange thing is that the autodim app (for the rearview mirror dimming) appears also in the 8.4 apps, but does not work either. Lastly, I added a humidity sensor up there too, since that was the last thing I needed to do for the ATC, and does not seem to work. In Alfaobd check, all 3 items (auto dim, dimming mirror and humidity sensor) have error in that they have lost communication with module, not present. I know it is getting the linbus as I ran another wire up there.

Any thoughts? I dont think its a bad mirror as the humidity sensor is not working either.

Is yours exactly as pictured in post 1 of this thread? Most listings on Ebay I saw when I bought mine were incorrect. They confuse auto-dim with auto high beam. I guess they think auto-dim means dimming the headlights when it actually means the mirror darkens to reduce the glare of the headlights of the car behind you.

It is as pictured in post 1. It definitely has both the auto dim (camera like lens with leds) and also the auto dimming rearview.

What was the factory radio/mic & mirror setup? Ra2 with mics in headliner/manual dim/flip knob mirror?

If 8.4 upgrade, who supplied your harnesses?

I'm fairly certain you didn't get a harness from me for your ATC cabin temp/humidity so you're probably missing some section of the wiring ... Even if you installed a factory 2018 1500 mirror harness with the ATC sensor plug.

Yes it was the ra2 with mics in the headliner, and the dim/flip knob. I installed the 8.4 and did the wiring on my own based on the great posts by you, deereguy and rick rams.

The 8.4 radio and atc work great. I ran a mirror harness from the passenger side jumper to the mirror. The harness was a multifunction for mics, rain, and humidity sensor. I figured the extra wires dont harm anything. I believe it is only 3 wires, 12v, gnd, and linbus cbc2 needed and alfaobd coding. So I think it should all work.

Can this PN be Confirmed?

. . or 911/AutoDim w/AutoHighBeam Mirror: - 68096094AA (Req's Sales Code)

Search says Either a HVAC Part or a close out panel for a Charger (Police)

Okay Grimm, I don't mean to be arguementive (sic) but I guess I can't avoid it, Yes 50$ is Awesome but "Out of Stock" is well, not so. which means regardless of the obscure, never seen in the Western States, third party Parts store, We, as dutiful DIY'ers have to rely on searchable information to have successful MOD's and pass that knowledge, fumbles, missteps, and updates along to our fellow's, especially to avoid silly dissertations. Now that once may have been a PN, or a BPN (build Part Number) but when Google, Bing, duckduckgo, parts.allmoparparts.com and the rest of the Mopar catalog show "0" results then it's no longer a viable number to use in our MOD list build sheets. If there is an updated PN then the OP should edit his/hers DIY Post, if it's no longer available and a later model will not work, that too should be noted so we can start scouring the Auto Recycler's. Again I'm not interested in a heated forum debate, I've Completed most of my Phase 1 MOD's (Keyless go, Floor Console swap, 2020 TLight Conversion) and budgeting for My Phase II and Phase III Lists- all with the help of this forum and it's solid info. **heavy sigh**

I totally overlooked that it was out of stock.
The PN is correct. Benny at AllMoparParts.com may have better/updated info (let us know).

Note that the last 2 letters are irrelevant... Could be AA, AD, AE, etc.
Edit: its 68096094AF now.

Would that work on my 2014 2500 (SLT)? Would like to have the auto high beam feature, not sure which harness I need and I'm guessing the 1500 mirror should fit? Will be a while until I do this, getting gears swapped this month and I'm still saving some money for a custom auto air control unit. I will keep an eye out for deals if have the correct part #s

Yes it will with the correct harness. Kind of depends on what mirror/radio setup you have now and if you have cab lights or not

No cab lights, have 8.4 vp4 with the ATC setup (no humidity sensor). The original radio was ra2. Have basic mirror with microphones (no auto dim)
