Oops, should have specified. I ordered it back in November 2020, delivered early 2021. I have 4,000 miles on it now and have zero regrets. It's a fantastic do-it-all truck.

I’m looking to get a ‘19+ PW. But would like to know more about the truck. I’ve been browsing the forum and reading a bit and haven’t seen any huge issues with the PW’s. I don’t tow/haul much weight so that’s not an issue for me. I’m off road a good amount but no rock climbing or any of that nature. My main concern is the engine and transmission. Major pros/cons regarding those areas basically.

Buy it. Super capable. Unless you're a purist, prepare to drop another 5-10 grand for accessories, accoutrements, and upgrades.

Nice! From everything I’ve been seeing, it’s definitely a complete truck for my needs.

Indeed.. trying not to rush the process as I’ve done in the past and get overly excited and purchase the first at the very first dealership lol

@Keith67 what’s up with the dual alternator? Sorry, I’m clueless to that.

180 amp stock alt. Not sure if the single 220 amp option is even available any longer. I do see the dual set up option in the builder tool yielding 380 amps.

When I got my power wagon it was already at the dealer. Had every option but the upfitter module for aux switches, the dual alternators, and the block heater. Now I find myself moving to Tennessee and with an upgraded after market stereo. I would have liked the block heater and dual alternators since I have to get the block heater put in and an upgraded alternator installed now lol

what do you need a block heater for? I live in northern michigan and have never needed one on any of my vehicles....

And you are probably better off just going with a high output single replacement alternator.

As others have said, two alternators for a total output of 380 amps. Few reasons:

I pull a 6,000lb travel trailer and plan on installing a 40 amp REDARC DC to DC charger (BCDC1240D) on the trailer. It'll pull (up to) 40 amps directly from the truck battery and send it to the batteries on the trailer while I'm driving. The standard 7-pin trailer connector doesn't provide much current, more of a trickle charge, so the extra overhead to keep the truck battery charged while sending higher current to the trailer is appreciated. It also provides the added benefit of being able to idle the truck to put (up to) 40 amps into the trailer, essentially using the truck as a quiet generator to recharge the batteries when camping. I don't like idling the truck for long periods if possible but that becomes an option.

According to Warn the winch can draw 66 amps (zero load) to 469 amps (12,000lb line pull). No idea how much more current the dual alternators generate at idle than a single but it's nice to have the overhead. Under a long, heavy line pull it's nice to know the alternators can probably keep up with the demand (8000lbs = 335 amps out) and/or recharge to 14v more quickly.

I've read that it's not simple to install a second alternator after the fact so it was one of those options I didn't question for the price.

Thank you! That was very informative. Good to know.

Thanks. I’m not rushing to get one but can’t wait that long either if that makes any sense. But if I had to order one, it’d probably be the most basic Non 75th PW.

Isn’t a warm block less harsh on cold start climates?
