FYI...
I don't usually have radios for complete kits, but I have a complete 2017 RA4 VP4-NA Upgrade kit available with support to add on Single Zone ATC if wanted (1 extra sensor for 4 speed 2500/3500, wiring is already built in to the harness. 1500 req's a bit more). Ideally for a 2013-17 ram (Haven't heard back in a week from the person that was supposed to get it).

Comes with used/tested 17ra4 w/unlock code & sw v18.45.x (very good condition), new Single Zone MTC bezel, cell bypass plug, new HVAC module, our universal conversion harness (& New Mopar/ Denso fan Resistor & Plug n play fan harness for 2500/3500's). 1500 harness setup boxed up and ready to ship... Have parts to easily swap out for 2500/3500 setup.

Message me if interested.

And what did Infotainment say about the issue? One would assume since they were paid good money for the upgrade they would provide support to their customer.

Having bought one of their products in the past before AlphaOBD was around, I can say that your assumption is incorrect.

Has anyone experienced their UAQ randomly becoming completely unresponsive then rebooting on its own? I originally swapped my factory RA3 for my UAQ and had no issues. After running it for awhile I added the Customtronix Enzo & their dual video splitter switch and a front camera on top of my factory reverse & cargo cam. I immediately experienced what I would consider interference lines across the screen when viewing any of the cameras as well as the radio randomly & sporadically rebooting and freezing. I got tired of my backup camera not automatically coming on with my UAQ so I bought an RA4 from a 2017 (verified MY17 by vin & part #) and installed my Customtronix ENIGMA that I had used on my last truck with another RA4 and experienced the same issues. I figured it was the Customtronix modules and (or) t-harnesses causing the random reboots and interference. I was not satisfied with the RA4 compared to the UAQ overall on top of the fact that I lost my soft key for my backup camera when I installed the MY17 RA4. I had to open the cargo camera with the cc soft key and then click on backup cam. Never could figure that out and gave up when I reinstalled my UAQ since it displays both just like my original factory installed RA3 did. Shortly after reinstalling my UAQ I removed the Customtronix module and harness EVERYTHING but the factory wiring and UAQ and the backup cam as well as the cargo cam still have interference looking lines that float up and down the screen only when viewing cameras and I noticed tonight that unfortunately the radio is still randomly rebooting when going down the road. Sorry for the long post but I'm hoping someone can help me here.

Hello,
I recently installed a VP4 8.4" radio on my '19 1500 Classic replacing the 5"...and was getting the 911 error message. I did get the hvac cable and a 911 bypass adapter from Infotainment, but I still keep getting the 911 error message. I see that on the forum there is one made/sold for the 911 bypass adapter. Do you think the one available on the forum will solve my problem of getting the phone 911 error message? Or do you think it is the radio? If the thought is that the forum version of the 911 bypass adapter will suffice...I would like to order one.
Thanks.

This is known issue mentioned in the op and Infotainment should have informed you of it before purchase and it's why I would have recommended a 2018/classic UAQ/UAS radio upgrade

2018 & 19 CLASSIC OWNERS !]

* It is NOT recommended to install a 13-17 RAx radio in a 2018 or 19 classic!

It 'can' be done but you 'CURRENTLY' can't get rid of Cellular System needs service error message at startup (unless using the recommended 2018/19 classic UAx radio, & you will need ATC w/UAx upgrades to avoid hvac blend door issues).

Ram 2019 Classic RA2 to RA4 Upgrade.

& How To: Install a 2018 4C (UAQ/UAS) Radio in 2013 - 2017 RAM

The cell error bypass/canceller from anyone would not fix this issue on it's own.

I received my 4/7spd Universal Conversion harness w/ATC Pt1 (v4) from Mpgrimm2 yesterday, looks pretty much pro, easy install, works flawless, now I can fully enjoy my 8.4 nav radio with hvac and volume controls

I'll be doing this swap for my parents in the near future, and will be reaching out for another harness

It would be great if you could record the complete installation..
I was watching one similar video & just as it got to the technical part, the videographers battery died & he did not realize it until the project was completed

My customers get PDF instructions showing what to do and get actual contact with me by phone if needed (even while on vacation).

I've got enough people/businesses trying to copy what we've done that I'm not sure I went a full install video for our Plug n play harness set....
Edit: But if I ever get someone near me that is doing the upgrade, I may have to consider it.

I did not mean for you to record anything.

I meant that when others try to do an install or Mod, i personally would like to see videos, even with the mistakes.
For instance, i just watched a video where a guy was pulling out the Ram boxes to do a mod or 2.
He showed the bolts or screws & mentioned not to use a cordless drill to put them back in because of the possibility of cracking the plastic.
What he did not show was how he disconnected the electrical connectors & mentioned a Hydro, but did not show or explain any of that part, like just how he found the connections & what the heck a Hydro is.
So i felt like i was left hanging & disappointed

Just WOW! You guys have put some serious time into figuring this whole thing out! It's exactly what I am trying to do. I was searching the Fakra 911 bypass and found this site. This is simple enough to make. I actually think I have a Fakra D connector with a pigtail but I would need the resistor.
I talked to infotainment but their complete kit is almost 2K. I am currently using a Phoenix 12.1 Tesla style head unit but I hate android and I want the factory look back and I need CarPlay.
I have already sourced the 8.4 bezel but... My 2016 Tradesman only has the standard HVAC controls. The bezel I got has the dual zone so I guess I will need to make the proper harness for it to operate correctly?
Next would be the USB media hub. I understand the Compass hub works 2018+ but I would need to make a harness to adapt it correctly in my console. Gonna have to read through this whole thread! 26 pages..:(

Hello,

I am new... I have 2015 Ram 1500 Attempting to do the conversion to RA4 from to RA2. I have 68238619AF = Radio (2015) and 1UJ96DX9AF = Bezel (2015) so far. My main question is the HVAC Control Module –(7 speed Fan specific models)// What part numbers will work? I know PN: 68268186AA is one that is recommended but is quite expensive. Are there cheaper options? Will 68366552AA work?

Not sure if your 2016 is a 2500 or 1500 & what radio it came with originally but you will need ATC.

You need to reference the following for a 2018/classic ram UAQ or UAS radio upgrade to get Android Auto Apple/ Carplay (cell bypass plug not needed) ....

** Read the first 5-10 posts of each ***

You also need an 8.4 conversion harness ...

I have both in stock.

Thanks I do have the harness already. Do you know if the part number below will work. Not sure why there are so many part numbers for these. Is it best to match the year or newer, not go older than the vehicle?

I was referred to you by another member.. lol
I need all the necessary components and harnesses to complete a 3.0 radio in my 2016 Tradesmen regular cab to the CarPlay 8.4.
I have the dual climate control bezel. I haven’t purchased the radio yet because I want to get the final cost and weigh my options. I have the steering wheel volume controls. Backup camera in the mirror.
Also, the bezel I purchased has the 110v outlet. Is there a way to make this functional?
Thank you for your time!

That one will work. (The 14-17 1500 modules are all interchangeable & work with 13-17 RAx radios)

I have a 2019 Classic Tradesman with the 5.0 with backup cam in mirror and manual AC controls and no steering wheel controls. I want to do the 8.4 upgrade with Android Auto, Back up cam in the screen and auto climate controls. How much would all the harnesses be to purchase from you? I'm refusing to buy anything from Infotainment. Also, I guess a missed the part number list for all of this, if someone could help me out please and thanks.
