When you guys did your 180* T-Stats, did you drain the radiator all the way or did you guys just pop the hose off and drain the liitle from it and lift it above so it allwouldnt drain out? I know with the lx cars it will work like that but just curious if it will do it with ours as well, dont really feel like doing a flush right now.

Alright thats what I was planning on doing. Do I need to get a new gasket for the housing or should the stock gasket be fine?

Reuse the stocker. That is what I did with no issues since I installed it over a year ago.

The Jet thermostat I used had a new rubber gasket on it.

I drained a bit out of the rad first in hopes it would keep the mess to a minimum when yanking off the hose but you still get the hoseful leaking out. Have a rag ready to sop up as much as you can as you pull the hose off. Tip #2, the bottom bolt of the housing does not need to come all the way out, loosen it until it's almost all the way out and just rotate the housing around and out of the way. That bottom bolt can be a bear to start in again after it's removed due to how tight it is in there. If anyone ever needs a new gasket the part number is 05037173AA for future reference.

i'll do a writeup. here ya go.

1. drain some fluid out of the radiator
2. pull hose off the thermostat housing
3. remove 2 bolts holding on thermostat housing
4. pull old thermostat out (make sure gasket comes out with it)
5. reinstall in reverse
6. be sure to belch the system when you're done

Hey is there any harm in dropping one of these in without an efan or anything else?

The Mr.G don't come with rubber gasket either re-used the stocker too as it was in good shape and yes the bottum bolt is a ***** and the mating threads are alloy and ALMOST got damaged when I did mine.

an efan has nothing to do with this mod. this is a good mod for anyone. personally, i dont run 180 because it gets too cold in the winter here (-30F)

Okay cool. I asked that cuz just about every truck I see with an efan had a 180, figured it was related

I got a Jet 180 and it looks like it has a rubber gasket on it, I was more curious if there is another gasket on the housing or if that was it.
