I have a 2016 Ram 1500 that I have started the modding process, I have already removed the clutch fan several months ago and now I'm considering the V6 Electric fan. I originally thought I could just install a 2016 V6 fan, but I'm certain that won't work, it seems that I have to use a 2012 3.7 fan but my fan does not have the resistor on it like the 3.7 fan and the plugs don't seem the same, can I just order the Mopar shroud and would you guys have the part# for the correct Mopar fan or shroud to do the swap? Thanks!

Cheapest option is to just buy a TYC fan, and just swap your current motor into the TYC shroud. Otherwise, you are going to have to cut and extend your wiring harness to reach the 09-12 V6 fan plug.

I have a 2014 that I also removed the clutch fan and I am using the stock V8 efan without any issues. I also took the shutters out of my grille and now my truck always stays around 185 coolant temp and the fan hardly ever comes one. I would recommend trying this before spending money on a different fan.

It's a shame you can't just buy the V6 shroud all by its self, I really like to use Mopar parts, the dealership said the OEM fan is really scarce at over $500 a piece, I have been rockin the V8 electric fan for a while and with the Diablo I wanted the V6 fan. I decided to just buy the TYC fan and try and swap my motor and fan blade over. I am super curious to see the 2016 V6 fan wiring diagram, it looks like a much better design but I think the control module is a part of the fan and it might be a PWM motor as well, of which are really high quality., my buddies at the dealership will give me the diagrams if I ask, Hmmm........

Anyways, here's the one I got.

Wait, so I can use the TYC shroud and swap the motor and blade from the one electric fan rmthats already installed on my Hemi?

I just ordered this one for my 2011. Found it on eBay new for $86. Should be here in a couple days.

I have the smaller AC condenser fan stock, along with the clutch fan. Will be deleting the clutch fan and installing this by the weekend.

Concerned though with all the posts about bad vibrations. Guess I'll see once I get it installed. Already running 180 tstat and custom tune to adjust fan speeds.

I just spoke my buddy at the Dodge Dealership and he said the newer fan uses a bus signal to control it and the fan module is apart of the fan as I thought, this explains why the 2016 Pentestar V6 fan has three wires, two large wires, red and black, then a small yellow wire for the bus signal, he said it was in fact a pulse width modulation motor, of which are highly durable and water proof, brushless technology.

Is there a reason you can't remove the clutch fan and just use the stock electric fan with a tuner? Or do you HAVE to change it out with the tyc or v6 Mopar fan?

Thanks, that's what I was wondering. Just don't understand why you should have to change the fans out. Now can anyone tell me how to do the settings through intune? Lol!

I got the TYC fan installed after I installed my motor and blade onto to, I was trying to figure out how to install the TYC larger fan blade onto my motor, no way that will work without swapping the two internal shafts and risk the chance of breaking stuff while trying to press them out, the TYC shaft is longer so the bigger fan blade wont bolt to the stock motor. I had both motors apart, I'm glad I didn't use the TYC motor, it's really cheap!

I also installed the JET thermostat and reprogrammed the temp to 200* for the time being, works great! It's really bothering me that I have the smaller blade on the V6 shroud, but I'm not willing to spend the several hundred on the OEM V6 fan. I am really interested in using the 3.6 cooling fan, it's variable and really cheap at like $160 bucks, 52014772AD, Fan Assembly for 2013 Ram 1500|52014772AD : Factory Mopar Parts - Wholesale Mopar Catalog and Fan Module | Genuine Mopar | 52014772AF : Factory Mopar Parts - Wholesale Mopar Catalog

The 3.6 fan uses a three wire hook up, it has fused power and ground running straight to it, the third wire is the variable control voltage coming from the PCM and as far as I have read it's just variable DC voltage depending the cooling it requires, I read it all off Tech Authority, totally worth the short Subscription!

2013-14 Ram 3.6 fan purchased, I think I can just solder the PWM control circuit to the positive wire on the fans harness and should operate like the 5.7 fan and of course swap plug, gotta love brushless PWM technology!

You already have a 2 speed fan circuit, there's a high speed and low speed fan relay, look in your fuse box you'll find 2 fan relays. Not sure you'll gain anything trying to run a infinitely variable fan,but all the power to you if you get it functioning right.

Once again, why wouldn't you just pull off the clutch fan and run the stock fan and save your money? Seems to me like an unnecessary purchase. Hell, y'all send me the $100 you spend on the V6 fan and I'll tell you how to leave your stock one in. No purchase necessary. Lol!

Is there any way to use the low speed relay. I noticed the relay but only 2 wires to the fan

Just what are you trying to accomplish besides spending a bunch of money, lol. For hot track days I cobbled together a old fan relay that uses a switch and fuse ,all I do is pull the stock low speed relay out, stick my cobbled together switch in place and I run the fan constantly even with the truck off in the staging lanes, but only on really hot days. Not exactly sure what you're trying to do.As stated i'd of just pulled the clutch fan off and used your stock E-fan,and saved a bunch of money.Lots of us are just running the stock e-fan with no shroud and are having no heating issues. What you did with the TYC fan and shroud is good, but probably not needed, personally i'd of tried the stock e-fan first, then spent money if it turned out not to be up to the task of keeping the engine cool

Oops I did sorry .If you want to activate the fan with the truck off,all you need to do is cobble together a switch that you plug into the fan relay circuit, and jump across the fan circuit feed. It's just a normal relay,so you can jump the fan side of it pretty easily.

I forgot about doing that. I did that on my old mustang for track days & was very happy. Glad you brought that up

Like said on the newer Rams the v6 fan isnt needed. I did the clutch fan delete, run the stock a/c fan & have a custom tune w/ the lower fan settings & mine stays around 185. And that is living in south LOWSYana where it gets hotter than hell & more humid than the inside of a spa in the middle of the summer. Lol
