Not sure I would want the EVIC flashing at me, I think it would distract you at a time that you really dont want to be distracted!

Here’s the glass for 2019 tow mirrors with blind spot (5th gen and HD)- driver side 68401395AA, passenger side 68401394AA. From the sales code GU9, it seems they are auto dim, but I’m not sure. From other pics of how the 4th gen glass is mounted, these look a little different, but it does look exactly the same as the trail ridge glass mount. I don’t know if the plastic on the back of the glass can be swapped. I’ll leave these pics to see what you guys think. XrxECt9.jpg HmJGePf.jpg j7uCgx1.jpg pkILz78.jpg ULJryON.jpg

@Jimmy07

Does the shape of that glass match the existing on 4th gen 1500? I cant tell.

Not sure Id want to chance removing the glass from the plastic, my guess is it is glued on.

I’m not sure about the shape. I DO have the glass removed from my old manual fold trail ridge tow mirrors. Best I can think is, I can take one to the dealer and put it up against a 2019 mirror and a pre-2019 and see how they compare. As far as mounting, this might turn out to only be an option for those that already have trail ridge tow mirrors.

I also keep reading about the trailer spotter lamps on these new HD mirrors, but I don’t know where they’re actually (supposed to be) located on the mirrors. The manual says they come on with the cargo light switch when in park or reverse, and the schematics show the circuits for them on the door modules. Anybody have a clue where this spot lamp is located?

On another note, I have a subscription to techauthority for the next couple days for some research I’m doing on our 2019 Cherokee. If anybody can think of any info they want that isn’t available on alldata, I can get screenshots of it.

On the TSB section they have a "latest" document where they show the latest additions for TSBs for all platforms....that would be nice to see.

In my case any recent TSBs and RRTs for the DS would be nice as well!

I ordered that mirror glass, they are supposed to get here Wednesday, I think the mounting looks the same. Here is a pic of the '18 and older glass

The trailer spot lights are below the mirror as far as i can tell, here is a pic of a '19 mirror

I found a gen 5 mirror for cheap on ebay to play with. Will see if the mounting lugs can be modified, and want to see if a hinge swap is possible. Will keep fingers crossed on the glass swap[emoji1695]

That’s a plus. I ran across this image, but it must be for the non tow mirrors. rImXxDE.jpg

One thing that is not really a big deal, but its bugging me a bit because I can be a little OCD about certain things, is that when I lock or unlock the truck, or when the hazards are on it flashes the brake lights and not the amber turn signals. I can get it to work correctly by not enabling "single element tail lamp" but then it does not drop out the brake light during normal left or right turns. I saw a new '19 HD in a parking lot and it flashed the amber turns when the guy unlocked it, so I know they are supposed to work like that. Any ideas? maybe the 2019's have a little bit different BCM programming since they come with amber turns?

That may something we have to live with. The export 4th gens have the turn signals and brake lights in separate housings. So the programming is tailored to that in mind. With single element being enabled, it doesn't matter if they flash the brake lights or turns, so someone just chose to flash the brake circuit.

That being said, when I finish my install on Sunday, I will dig through the BCM settings and see if we need to potentially update the CBC outputs.

On another note, I installed my lights and ran the harness to the front. I tapped power for the BSM sensors and connected them to the CAN IHS bus before I ran out of daylight. Still need to connect the turn signals to the BCM and do the turn signal programming. Then I still need plug in the BSM lights into the door modules but I did activate the BSM settings.

I am getting a B2204 ECU configuration mismatch DTC in both sensors. I'm not sure if that's because the 2015 BCM does not support those sensors or because both of my door modules have DTCs for BSM light open circuits. I guess I will figure that out on Sunday when I finish the install.

Mine did not like not having the led indicators in the mirrors hooked up, I got the open circuit codes in the door modules and the blind spot monitoring was not working, I got this message on the evic

But I don't think I had any mismatch codes in the BCM or sensors

You’ll also notice there is a distinction in the color orange and the EVIC message between whether the sensor is at fault or the indicators are at fault.

Yep, mine are saying temporary unavailable. Seems like they're communicating fine with the BCM. I'm guessing the the sensors don't have many error states and B2204 is a catch all for when the sensors do their systems check and the check fails. Not having indicator lights should definitely fail the check. I would not be surprised if the sensors don't work with the 2015 BCM. Part of me has been considering finding a 2016 BCM and installing that to see what happens after some programming, that would be a super last resort.

I guess I will find out on Sunday. Hopefully it works, if not, I'll start working towards the path of trying to get them re-flashed.

Im excited to see how this works. My mirrors will be here today and I plan on doing a re pin. I would have done the glass, but I have trail ridge tow mirrors on my truck and I don't believe the glass will swap over. At least it didn't on the 2019 ram 1500 mirror that I had.

Which mirror glass were you using when you ran into this problem? Were they the 2019 glass with the LED Blind spot light?
