4.56 or 4.88 ? Which are better for 37s?

IMO 4.56's will be plenty if you're coming from 3.21's...it'll be 42% more rpms than what you're currently working with with the 3.21's. Assuming those tires are more like 36.5", you're probably right around 1400 rpms at 70mph in 8th gear. Change to 4.56's and you'll be at 2000 rpms. Going to 4.88's just gets you another 100 rpms.

Oooh ok ... from talking with people everywhere they say I should be fine with 4.56s ... any concerns I should have if I go with 4.88s ?

Just depends how fast you usually drive. I routinely drive 75-80mph, so when I went with 37's I stuck with 4.88's instead of everyone saying they would go 5.13's (my final gear is .625 vs your .66, so my rpms are a little lower than yours would be with the same diff gearing). I live in a low elevation with minimal hills, and I drive 70+ all the time. Someone who lives at 5000ft, drives hilly/mountainous terrain often, and never sees over 70mph would have different needs.

But you also have the 6.4 ... So what do you suggest or recommend I go with .... I rarely will see any hills, it's mostly all flat highways and city streets ... and remember it's also only a 2wd ...

I've got 11k miles logged on my 4.56 swap.

You'll be plenty happy with this upgrade.

I used Alfaobd to change my axle ratio in the BCM. Truck behaves like stock. Very pleased with the mod and functionality

AlfaOBD is software that can activate dealer codes to make functions previously not available to you at the palm of your hands. Its available for windows and Android operating systems. No Apple support at this time.

BCM is Body Control Module which accepts the inputs from Alfa via the OBD2 port to accept those changes. :005:

Cool ... I think 4.56s it will be ...
After seeing the kind of driving you're gonna do (and, NOT do), I change my mind.
You don't need 5.13s.
4.56s will do you just fine on flat, sea level, asphault streets.
Now, if you ever decide you want to run stoplight to stoplight.....hehehe.

Well you guys I am really regearing my truck on March 6th ... I will be going with 4.88s from Revolution/Motive Gears and getting them regeared by Premier West Gears in Riverside California. Anyone with opinions or suggestions on Revolution/Motive gears? I was thinking about going with Yukon gears but Carlos suggested Revolution, any thoughts ?

Motive gears are good, we've used them in race applications.

Curious how it turns out!

As long as it's installed correctly any brand that's competent should be fine.

I used yukon myself based on my research at the time.

4.88 if you have the 5 speed, 4.56 if you have the 8

5/6 speeds have SAME overdrive ratio as the 8-speed. So trying to maintain 70mph if you live in a hilly area on the interstate all depends on tire size.
Always refer to a gear ratio chart.
Biggest front diff gears made are 4:56 unfortunately. But if your 2 wheel drive, rear can have 4.88
