Ok I will avoid changing in the bcm, but not sure how to only set that to the radio only as I am not seeing anything within alfa to suggest that. Wondering if I should grab a 2500 radio module and try. will not be a one for one test, but I do have a 2022 2500 uc5 8.4 non nav radio I can toss in and see if works with or without any changes to my current settings besides the ics and disassociated screen ones.
It won’t matter what UC5 radio you swap in, they just won’t display the cargo cam soft key when it’s installed in a 1500. 2019+ non-nav 8.4 radios aren’t capable of displaying the cargo cam soft key in 1500’s either, whether they’re UC4 or UC5.
You would have to use a man-in-the-middle canbus between just the radio to spoof to it that it’s a DJ vehicle line.

Ok, does it let you change it to half degree connected as a 2019? I have a theory that since everything is essentially recorded in Celsius on these vehicles that that setting in particular may be part of a formula for the Fahrenheit conversion (but described poorly in "developer speak"). Essentially, several settings influence the output of a display when coupled together for a particular vehicle.
Yes I can change it but has no effect. If I change the language on the radio it changes both the radio and cluster but even boggling that back to us English it changes the cluster back correctly but not the radio that defaults back to metric. Wondering if my country code has anything to do with it since it is a Canadian truck but cautious of switching that given what I have read in the past with others changing that. If there is a known safe way to do that I will do it. Swapped in 16 bcm was out of a us truck BTW but with the config from my original 15 it is set to canada.

You can change the code in the radio. Canada is "4" in the market selection on the radio.

Thanks its a Canadian truck originally. I bought here in the US, NJ just to clarify.
Yeah, @Mpgrimm2 and I were just thinking about this issue the other day as it's a common one (but I think solvable).

So i am trying to compile everything needed to get the surround view to work with the 8.4 UC5. Looks like you need to get a 2017 BCM and that module that stitches all the images together. Other than that is there anything else? Someone mentioned a can bus modulator that someone made? Is that still necessary?
