What’s up fam!

First off this thread and info is amazing.
I have two issues but I will keep it simple and only ask one for now.

I bought two mirrors and activated the blinkers on it but can’t get the puddle lights. I’ve looked at the steps which seem to only be two of them. I can’t find the “puddle light” one on my options. Does anyone know why that would be??

Well just taking a look at the OPs amazing known working codes list. 6184c345bf99470589442bf4c70385dd.jpg

I’m pretty sure it’s the approach lights you are looking for.

They may have been referring to the abs module needing initialized, which the alfa can do.
So put the new module in. The old module was cracked from the crash so an obvious fix. When I replaced the module I got the C2202 code which is mismatch vin. So I brought Up Alfa and ran the ABS Initalization procedure and bam. Good as new. So thanks to everyone who helped! Saved me $45 and a trip to the dealer!

Sticking it to the dealer is priceless :)

Hello, I have activated my DRL with Alfa and set them to turn signals, which works fine, but I had already wired Dayliner switchbacks to the parking lights and turn on manually, then have the amber switchback wired to turn signal. So now my switchback stays amber unless I turn on parking lights. Does anyone know if it is possible to set DRL to parking lights? I did not see it as an option in Alfa, but thought I would ask before rewiring switchbacks to fog lights instead.

Has anyone tried turning off/disabling the SCR and/or the dosing unit with alfaobd, I’ve seen it as an option but have heard of anyone trying it?

So just the approach lights? What about the “puddle lights present”?
Sorry for the delay, Iam at work

I wouldn't be brave enough to try it on mine!

I’m not sure if you could actually shut it off since the SCR, urea sensor, and nox sensors are on their own private canbus network. Even if you could, then what? You’d be in limp mode pretty quick without a delete tune, which tunes out the scr anyway.

Yes, just the approach lights. The puddle lamps are “not set” on factory equipped trucks with mirrors that have “puddle lamps”.

Being that those options are in the ECM and what a delete tune is doing, what exactly are the tuners turning off?

Theoretically, turning off those systems would also turn off said sensors, you’d think,
I see what you’re thinking, but taking out the scr isn’t going to stop the pcm from looking for the correct data from those sensors. That’s just part of the factory engine tune as a whole, and if a tune isn’t written specifically for that, soon enough it’ll start throwing up the reductant level codes.

Are there any moderators or admins that are active in this thread? We REALLY REALLY REALLY need a separate section for Alfa at this point so we can separate all this. Adding different functions, troubleshooting peoples issues etc. This is becoming quite the monster to navigate at this point. It's all over the place and the search function on here is not ideal for finding answers.

Not complaining exactly, just trying to be proactive and get this bumped to the next level.

.

I agree.

I will start a new thread on my problem as I have not been able to solve it.

I’ll have to look at it more closely this weekend, the way it’s worded in Alfaobd, it’s asking if it has those systems. Theoretically if I say “no” it shouldn’t look for them, from a military aircraft armament/avionics perspective.

If you’re referring to the setting in the BCM under vehicle config 1, then the only thing that won’t be looking for it anymore is the BCM. You would have done nothing to stop the pcm from looking for it since it’s on a private canbus j1939 network, hence the reason you need to access the j1939 data port in the engine bay to unlock the pcm to even be able to write a new tune for it.
