Something sleazy going on there. Sounds like Dealership pulled off a fast one. If they pushed in the paperwork vehicle is New, when in fact it is a Used, returned by 1st Owner, must have been a big issue somewhere. As long as OP goes through all his P/W, and Nothing Noted as Vehicle used, he should have a case. Than be Lawyer Time if Dealership not make whole. In nj, it’s not registration that counts, it’s, was it titled to anyone other than the dealer.
We have a Longhorn Limited with the HO motor. It’s brand new since October last year.I but the bullet, reasearched, saved, and finally purchased a 2025 Limited a month ago. I’ve had it back to the Dealerships shop because in low parking lot speeds it feels jumpy like the trans is slipping. Also, i feel a lag, unlike the youtube videos I’ve seen raving about the power of the High Output twin turbo i6. On top of that my average mpg is 11.6! My previous V8 was 15-17 city! Im starting to feel like I got a dud. Not to mention, I found out from one of the new salesmen AFTER the purchase that this truck was bought and returned by another customer when they went to set up the ram connect it was in his name so they had to transfer it out of my name. Apparently theres a lawsuit between him and the dealership but I couldn’t get more details. I don’t know if these things are common or not, or where to go from here. Not too happy about having these types of issues on an $80k truck! For the price this thing should be flawless. The dealership is saying to hang tight it will probably be fixed in an update. That was a week into it and nothing yet. Plus like I said, after a month of driving 11.6 mpg seems like something is wrong. Any advice would be appreciated.
5.9 Cummins ram turbos seemed to last forever.i wish you luck with it. turbos never work out they just burn out every 50000 miles, force-feeding a small engine is never the way. my subie wrx turbos, my buick g.n. turbos, my tractor turbos, i sell and repair motorhomes for 35 plus years, no turbos on rentals they must come home. i have road tested them dodges very nice and very new, we do a lot of towing of r.v. trailers and 5th wheels, no turbos just big V8's, i could be wrong. my girl friend just purchased a jeep wagoneer big twin pinwheel engine its at the dealer most of the time. we did a 0 to top speed against my ram, very sad but my ram is balls out adjusted as they say. hope it works out. go buy a 1970 dodge pickup with a 360 engine and put a nav and blue tooth radio in it and your set for life. you won't kill it. they don't sell vehicle anymore just amenities and extended warranties. but i wish you the best of luck with it and it makes you smile. always remember no replacement for displacement.
i have changed a small amount of turbos on the cummins diesel pusher motorhomes along with cracked manifolds especially if they have an exhaust brake. we removed all diesel pusher turbo mororhomes from the rental fleet. the old cummins engines were banded from the campgrounds after 9 o'clock p.m. due to noise ! cummins is the best of all diesels for power and durability, we had power strokes for a time and they gave us strokes. seems that turbos last longer on diesels due to how dirty the exhaust is, it's like a lubricant, carbon keeps your shaft clean ? and lubricated along with the amount of fuel and * junk in the oil. but any good diesel tech has a piece of plywood or a old new york phone book on his bench ? Y you say ? due to turbo shaft burn-out and you have a run-away engine ! pulls the oil out of the pan into a uncontrolled turbo. you can watch many videos on that. many a tech put his hand over the air intake to stall the engine ! we call him finger. most firetrucks have an air intake flap / door to cut off air and stall the engine. they call it an emergency engine stop, its a good idea. don't mind me, i am old and seen to much and i think more is coming. we don't build quality, we build amenities and sell extended warranties. fun times.5.9 Cummins ram turbos seemed to last forever.
Turbos by and large are pretty reliable if you treat them right.i wish you luck with it. turbos never work out they just burn out every 50000 miles, force-feeding a small engine is never the way. my subie wrx turbos, my buick g.n. turbos, my tractor turbos, i sell and repair motorhomes for 35 plus years, no turbos on rentals they must come home. i have road tested them dodges very nice and very new, we do a lot of towing of r.v. trailers and 5th wheels, no turbos just big V8's, i could be wrong. my girl friend just purchased a jeep wagoneer big twin pinwheel engine its at the dealer most of the time. we did a 0 to top speed against my ram, very sad but my ram is balls out adjusted as they say. hope it works out. go buy a 1970 dodge pickup with a 360 engine and put a nav and blue tooth radio in it and your set for life. you won't kill it. they don't sell vehicle anymore just amenities and extended warranties. but i wish you the best of luck with it and it makes you smile. always remember no replacement for displacement.
-The 5.7 is coming back in 2026. It's odd if the 3.L twin turbo is so great why bring back the 5,7 that does not have the hp or torque? I think it's because the 3.L is not as much an endurance engine. I hear lots of issues on different Youtube places of the problems like thermostat housings braking, wiring issues, and over heating and oil issues. You can't tow as much as the 5.7. If I had a choice I would Waite and get the 5.7 the 3.L is unproven in too many ways yet.I but the bullet, reasearched, saved, and finally purchased a 2025 Limited a month ago. I SAID THAT ON ANOTHER POST, OIL BURNS ON TURBO SHAFTS, MOST OF MY BUDDIES STILL RUN A TURBO TIMER. TURN KEY OFF RUNS FOR ABOUT A MIN OR SO. NOT MANY PEOPLE LET A TURBO ENGINE IDLE DOWN ! I WORK IN A DIESEL AND R.V. SHOP. PIECE OF PLYWOOD / PHONE BOOK TO CUT OFF THAT AIR ON A RUN-AWAY TURBO. FUN TO WATCH VIDEOS ON LINE TO SEE A DIESEL HIT 6000 RPM AND BOOM. G.M.C. HAD SUPERCHARGES AT ONE TIME * ME LIKE THEM. MY TWO BUDDIES JUST RETIRED AND HAD TRUCKING COMPANIES * O.M.G. ALL YOU DO IS REPAIRS. WHEN WE HAD B-MOD MACK'S WORK ALL DAY CHANGE OIL AND TIRES * O AND AIR STARTERS, SO WE LET THE TRUCK IDLE ALL NIGHT !! SEE YOU DO THAT TODAY EVERY LIGHT ON THE DASH WOULD BE ON. MY OTHER BUDDY JUST DUMPED HIS 2ND TURBO ON HIS SPRINTER VAN, BEST OF OIL ETC. THIS TIME PARTS OF THE TURBO KILLED THE ENGINE, NO MORE TRADE IT IN PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. THOSE MOTORS ARE LIKE GOLD TO FIND IN THE YARD, I FOUND ONE BUT ? MILES AND CONDITION AND BIG MONEY. GOT TO GO PHONE COMING OFF THE WALL. FUN TIMES.Turbos by and large are pretty reliable if you treat them right.
Big rigs can easily see over half a million miles on a stock turbo. The 5.9 and 6.7 turbos can easily see a few hundred thousand too. I'm at 126k on my turbo now and never a hiccup.
What kills them is heat soak. Once you get the oil cooking it must cool down before you shut it off or you'll cook the bearings in the turbo. I wish they made turbo timers standard so that the engine won't shut down for a couple of minutes until it can cool.

Mileage abysmal for a 6 cylinder when I can get almost 20 ish +|- on highway. Just saying. U r running premium fuel I hope with HO motor. I run 89 in Hemi.We have a Longhorn Limited with the HO motor. It’s brand new since October last year.
Average mileage is 15.1 now.
It does seem to hesitate a bit when cold. Shutting off the auto stop and start system seems to help. This hesitancy doesn’t seem to happen when the motor is warmed up.
Other than that it has been really smooth and clearly more powerful than our last Hemi truck.
I spent the better part of a decade working in a diesel repair shop, and the first 20 years of my life around big rigs (my dad and uncle owned a logging company). I've been driving a diesel since I was old enough to own a vehicle.I SAID THAT ON ANOTHER POST, OIL BURNS ON TURBO SHAFTS, MOST OF MY BUDDIES STILL RUN A TURBO TIMER. sorry you had great luck thank god. even cars do it. had 4 at condit ford at night, county plow trucks, two times on a rental fleet motorhomes, out of state $$ had to get them home with the renters. can't screw with peoples vacation. no diesels or turbos on rental motorhomes. a * i have a diesel tractor with a turbo, they all s**k when they break. they didn't pay me to purchase it, Y wave the flag. we have a 28000 + or - customer base i have seen to much. i have seen sales people pulled over the counter and see god for a truck that didn't do its job as stated. i love all units when they work. a motorhome renter is not a owner operator they push the pedal down and go. that's what they paid for to go on vacation, not check anything but the beer, food, kids and how much they are going to get that night. got to go the phone and email calls. be safe.I spent the better part of a decade working in a diesel repair shop, and the first 20 years of my life around big rigs (my dad and uncle owned a logging company). The problems are not that severe. You typically find problems when either a) the operators don't know how to operate the truck and run it ragged or b) there is little to no proper truck maintenance. Sometimes a combination of both. Runaways aren't common on newer diesel engines. The fuel system is regulated to prevent those things.

Good morning sir. I purchased a new 25 Ram 1500 Laramie SST on New Years eve 2024 and returned the truck to the dealership 2 weeks later over multiple problems with only 600 miles. The start stop battery failed, The ECM Power steering failed, and I had no power steering with my grandkids in the truck. The truck shook at 74 miles like it had bad tires the truck was an absolute disaster. I told the dealership if they didn't take this truck back I would file legal action against them. They took the truck back and gave me upgraded Laramie and Im having no issues thus far. It has 2100 miles on it now. STay on the dealership.I but the bullet, reasearched, saved, and finally purchased a 2025 Limited a month ago. Yep. Premium all the way, and into a 33 gallon gas tank. I have to ask my wife permission every time I fill up!Mileage abysmal for a 6 cylinder when I can get almost 20 ish +|- on highway. Just saying. U r running premium fuel I hope with HO motor. I run 89 in Hemi.
Tim Kuniskis came back because Carlos Tavares tanked the brand. ram and Mopar built a real brand with their trucks, and trucks is where it's at everybody wants one. Ram sold 561k trucks in 2020 and was number two, then next year 468k, then 444k, then 373k, and mind you these were mostly hemi's. In those 4 years base MSRP went from 32k to 40k under Tavares. There was barely an increase in 2025. The question is will the hurricane save ram? Chevy and Ford are not hurting in truck sales like ram is. Kuniskis wants the hemi back, no way Tavares would have ever brought the hemi back. It will be interesting to see 1st year sales with hurricane.-The 5.7 is coming back in 2026.
