In Canada, we get a puck on the rear driver's sideinstead of shark's fin and it doesn't sit as high.

I've got a 4" lift with 35's and Bilstein 5100's set to 1.4" and have no issues getting into my garage with a 7" door.

Most 6" lifts fit in the standard 7' garage from what I have read. Mine does not. I suspect it may be due to the incline of my driveway where it then levels out at the garage entrance. The front end just rides too nose high when the front enters the garage.

YES, Just Barely. Truck stock, 18" tires, just get in garage under rollup door, 1" or less clearance, and only 1" in front of/back of truck.

I can get in to work on either end of the truck.. but my 6’4 bed on a CC poses a tough decision...Ram in garage or hot water heater tank....hmmm decisions.

WY-DAVE: Look at all that room U got at the front of the truck, lol. With mine in, there is less than an inch clearance front/back,. I have to climb over the truck bed to get to either side with doors closed. So I put extra latches on my garage doors so if I was putting truck in, I could lock down door either side and not have to crawl over the truck. Dang CC with being 4" longer got me.. BUT it sure is a purty truck.

CAVEAT: I see U have a 2500. I do not know if yer wheelbase is longer than my 233 inches on the MY 19, not that it matters.......

I have a 2019 rebel w/o air suspension and a 9 x 7 garage door. I measured 4 inches from the top of the fin to the bottom of the weather stripping of the door.

You have a 2019 with a puck? I wonder if I can change mine to a puck. Can you post a picture of it.

Can you change out the fin on top to the puck? That is what stops me from getting in the garage, tight but doable.

The puck loses functionality, I think the cell based stuff like uconnect, etc. Sat radio will still work.

I literally just finished raising the opening of our second garage door. Original size was 9x6'6" and my stock 17 big horn didn't fit.

Picked up 2 9x7 doors at home depot... Did one last weekend and the other today.

Expense wise, not a huge deal, but labor wise makes you wonder if it was worth it.

On the other hand it probably would have cost a pretty penny for a contractor to raise the height. Took me about 4 hours each opening.

Hahaha. I grew up with Imperial and had to convert to Metric when Canada decided to switch. I still have trouble with the metric system.

I need this in my life. My 2021 project list includes opening up 2 garage doors to 8' height. was your header on a load bearing wall?

Yes, they were actually.

I built a "false wall" whose top plate match the angle of the roof joists that landed above the door header (there is a "cripple wall" about 2 feet high above the door header, the top of that cripple wall is where the joists landed). The false wall was probably about 10 feet high, slammed it in place to make sure it took off some of the load.

I did 99% of the prep work before installing the false wall and removing the header, so the header was only "out" for about 30 minutes. Honestly probably didnt need the false wall....I doubt the roof would fall down or sag in 30 minutes. But safety third!

On the first door I did, I removed the studs on the left and right of the rough opening, then installed brand new ones that were 6" longer. On the second door I just used 6" spacers. Both ways worked fine, the spacer way was less work (I didnt even pull the header out completely, I just lifted one side...installed spacer, lifted other side, installed spacer)

I had enough room for an 8 foot door, but once you get past 7 foot doors stuff gets expensive quick. If I ever get a Power Wagon, it wont fit....Ill just move to a different state :)
