Purchased a 2025 RAM 1500 Laramie on Aug 29, 2024. At 500 miles the engine light came on. It went out after a few days then back on. Took it to dealer. Light was out, stored code said 3 way cooling valve. Since light was out they cleared code. Two days later light was on again. In addition Key fob not detected notice started coming on every few starts. It would eventually detect key. Also after turning off sometimes it sounded like every solenoid under the hood was banging away, sometimes for 3-4 minutes. Back to the dealer. They had it for a day and said they had found and tightened loose ground wires. They referenced internal tech document 6886. Drove it for a week with no issues at all then engine light came on again. Following morning I went out to start it to go to work and.... nothing. Key fob would not unlock truck. Used key in fob. Truck would not start. Hooked tester up to battery and it said it was at 28%. I disconnected battery per dealer instruction and tried charging it. According to my battery tester I had a faulty battery. Dealer indicated that they could not give me a new battery to install as the truck would have to be checked by the dealer so it was towed to the dealer. It now had 704 miles on it. They have now had it for NINE days and have no idea what is wrong with it and thus do not know when I will get it back. Cudos to the dealer for giving me a loaner. This is the first new truck I have ever owned. My last three Rams over the past 20 years never gave me any trouble other than regular maintenance issues like brakes. Pissed off in WI.

If I were you - I would begin reviewing your state’s vehicle lemon law. Determine what requirements for a lemon are needed and do not tell the dealer.

If your vehicle meets the requirement(s) - I would proceed with a repurchase or replacement of the vehicle. Keep meticulous notes and records. Do not rely on memory.

Geez - this seems to be somewhat of a pattern with the 2025 models. Of course forums tend to magnify the perception of issues. Hope you get four truck fixed and back soon.

+1 on this ^^^^^

Document, document, document.

Dates, times, who spoke to, questions asked, answers given, etc.

Hopefully it gets taken care of as quickly as possible, although that is a moot point.

DO NOT mention the word lawyer. That will only complicate the process as it is.

Wishing you a complete and lasting resolution to your issue.

I would try to pin them down on a time and then that would be the time to issue you a new truck. Hopefully they can get it figured out. All the best!:)

so, that begs another question: If he's successful using the lemon law, and the truck can not be fixed by the dealer, what happens to the truck? auction? back to Ram? sold as junk? resold at a lesser price?

The vehicle is repurchased by RAM, using the dealer as an intermediary.

Most repurchased vehicle are then sold at auction.

SOME states require that the vehicle title be rebranded as a repurchased vehicle (or “lemon”). That is why the manufacturers often repurchase a vehicle that qualifies, prior to being ordered by an arbitrator or court, so they do not have to brand the title.

I also purchased a 2025 around the same time period as you. About a month ago I went out to use the truck and it was completely dead. The truck had to be towed to the dealer. After 6 days they were able to get it started, however they never found a reason as to why it died. I got the truck back and then about 6 weeks later it was completely dead again. It was once again towed to the dealer. It’s been there 4 days so far with no results.
I’m told that this is a problem with some of the 2025 trucks. This problem has come up in many RAM forums.
Extremely frustrating!

I could be wrong...probably...but this sounds alot like a canbus issue. The more I read about the canbus, the more I suspect it to be the problems. Just yesterday I pulled the knee panel down (charger) to look for some wiring. There was the canbus hooked up to it's network block. Wires a tad tight. After putting it back together, and driving sometime later...the radio reset and one point when to a blank screen. I tapped on the panel where the canbus block was/is, and sure enough it started to act the right way...So sometime to think about. With me anyways...now I need to check my own wiring.

I too have had a host's of code's stored, which after talking with the tech he stated it was triggered by the Auto/Stop mode. The relay for the Auto/Stop power is stuck in the off position and it triggers a code P2AF6 "Starter Relay 3 stuck off", I asked him about the loss of comm with the TCM Mode also he stated "I clear them once and if it faults again we change out the TCM Module which contains the comm to the PCM".Once it lose's comm it stops the truck cold. You may depending on the related codes put you in a "limp mode" to get you off to a safe area for tow.I ask him if this is a contamination of the trans module during assembly or a vendor design issue with the trans module and he stated it is built in house at ZF and the parts are shipped to Komo for assembly and had no info on that concern during assembly at Komo also one more thing I discovered was when I was with the salesman he finished the PDI by plugging into the ORB port with a MilPod WiTech and found multiple codes so he drove over to service and a tech came out and cleared them he stated this was from Sterling Heights assembly in which he found very concerning since there should be no faults during assembly and drive off or drive on to rail and transport due to it being put in Ship mode.

My 25 Laramie battery started going dead on me after 3 weeks. Whats odd though was that my start/stop feature never did work which was fine with me. So they ran tests, put in a new battery and all is fine now and my start/stop works normally. My 21 Hellcat had a bad battery after 2 months too. Its been fine since replacement. Other than that zero problems to report.

Who are you dealing with? I’m truck shopping here in WI and kinda curious which place you’re having problems with.

I just saw your zip code and see you live up where Wisconsin runs out, so we probably wouldn’t be shopping at the same places.

Only had two little hiccups with mine and since the reboot our truck runs very good with zero complaints. If that was the only trouble we have is the two hiccups Ram will have done good in my book with the 25 Ram 1500. :)

I am sorry to hear this. I am in a loner right now as well indefinitely. It is frustrating paying for a vehicle that you can not drive and no time frame to get it back. I did not get a lawyer. In my experience when they get involved the lawyers are the only ones that win. I wish you the best of luck and hope you get this resolved.
